    Yummy FoG!!

I wasn't sure what to make tonight but my daughter's future boyfriend's birthday is today and since he doesn't like cake, she decided to make him our crockpot BBQ meatballs. Well, these are the easiest things ever - the premade meatballs from Costco, grape jelly and chili sauce - and when we went to make them after church, I realized there were WAY too many for the college group so it would also be our dinner as well!! Awesome!! I'll serve them with rice, peas and a salad. We have peach pie for dessert.

Oh - I say "future boyfriend" because there is interest but hubby says they need to get to know each other a little better first. :)

We had steak with gravy, corn on the cob, fried yellow squash with onions, and cherry tomatoes.

    Yum!

Stuff? I guess the closest description would be Swiss steak with lots of mushrooms. We'll have either mashed taters or rice and some snap peas with it. I think. Main course still has a couple hours to go!

My plan was to have a dinner that would roast in the oven (pork tenderloin, potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, onions, garlic) but we've got wicked wind and I really have a feeling we're going to lose power at some point today.

So instead, I'm going to have my daughter who works at the grocery store and gets off at 3 pick up for me ingredients to make a recipe I found in Woman's Day yesterday - pork chop suey and rice.

Simple, baked ham/cottage cheese/corn relish/slaw/sliced garden tomatoes and peppers, grab it & growl; been canning beans & ham, no time to think of supper, again.

That was my plan too Ann, but our weather looks fine so a whole chicken is in there slow roasting. VERY slow roasting!

I'm trying to make rice now instead of potatoes, but since we still have some, I'll probably throw them in and the vegetable will be whatever I grab from the freezer since we're out of spinach.

I've heard SO many veggie concerns this year that I'm afraid to keep buying fresh spinach, TOTALLY quit buying sprouts, and am getting a lot more frozen veggies instead.

Gina - Sprouts are SO easy to grow yourself. You should do it!

I should probably do that, since it can be done indoors.
Outside is a problem for anything...if the earth doesn't reject it, the neighbors steal it.

    Mmmm, grilly! LOL

Tonight is, as usual, whatever veggie tossed out. Rice and a choice of salmon or mahi-mahi for the other stuff.
Made some brownies last night, so there might be some left for dessert.

We just did tacos. The kids were asking for it, I had a taco kit leftover from our boat trip so tacos it was. :)

Taking my Wife out to Cracker Barrel tonight. She usually has Chicken, and I usually have Country Ham with Hash Brown Casserole and a side of Pinto Beans.

Tonight we are having my daughter's soon-to-be-boyfriend over (once they get to know each other a little better) and I'm making lemon sticky roast chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy and peas. For dessert, I have apple turnovers and vanilla ice cream. :)
