You want to do when you get to heaven? What's the first thing you think you'll actually do when you get to heaven?

I think of that song "I Can Only Imagine".......for I truly can only imagine, and that doesn't even begin to come close. But I think I will fall before the throne of God and worship Him!

    Neal

Edit: I forgot to answer what I want to do. Besides worship God (which definitely ranks first for me), I would love to talk with Him and ask all the questions I have now to better understand Him.

Do we have much other choice than to worship Him?

I'm sorry, but I must bring up something that I have been concerned about. Years ago I was talking to a Christian friend of mine. She was talking about all the things she wanted to say and do with Jesus. She talked of sitting at His feet and conversing with Him.

I brought up with her that with billions of people in heaven, this might be a problem. She scoffed at me and said it did not matter about problems.

For instance, there are only 31,536,000 seconds in a year. That means that if each person took one second to converse with the Lord Jesus, and if there were only one billion people in heaven, it would take over 31 years for all one billion people to accomplish this task.

In my mind, I see heaven as a hugh crowd of people who do not have access to do anything that they want to do when they want to do it. There must be some type of organization to control such hugh numbers of people.

One time I sat in my study and thought about asking questions about things I didn't know. The thought that came back to me after about 30 minutes,,,,,,,there won't be any questions to ask.......everything will unfold as it should before our very soul. We will be so awestruck in His glorious presence we will be speechless.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I think I'll just fall on my knees and worship. And I'll stay there for a very long time. :D

I'll want to see if my grandmother and grandfather are there, I will probably fall down and worship and join the angels in singing, "Holy, holy, holy, art thou Lord God almighty"!

When our expected eternity in His presence be-
gins, I am sure there are things we cannnot even
come close to imagining that we will see and ex-
perience. What a Day that will be!

When the preliminaries are over, and after I have
spent time with the Lord, I want to ask Him, "Why
did You choose me? Why did you give me the
husbands and the children you chose for me?
Why did you give me so many privileges?"
And after I hear the answers, I will ponder them,
but I doubt I will ever understand.

Then I want to go off, gather up my two husbands
(to whom I will no longer be marrried), my present
husband's first wife, our children and all our
grandchildren, and just all be together.

Worship our Lord God. Bow in His presence and sing praises to His Holy Name. I will continue to give thanks for all that Jesus has done for me.

I think that all our questions will be answered or they will not be important anymore.

Rejoice and be joined with our loved ones who have gone before us.

What a glorious time it will be.

I think that the account of Moses' and Peter's (with James and John) experiences in witnessing a very small portion of God's glory is instructive here.

When we get to heaven, we will be able to see God's Glory in all of its fullness. I suppose that this will be quite distracting for at least the first million or so years.

After that, I would tend to agree that I will spend at least a million years, each, praising God for His forgiving of my sins.

Sometime after that, I'll probably still be marveling at Christ's scars.

Then, just maybe, I'll hang out with beloved family members....and then go searching for Elvis. [IMG]

i see myself falling to my knees and crying in relief, for joy and gratefulness.
then hearing His voice saying 'well done, come and see the place I have prepared for you', then He will wipe away every tear.
how marvellous it will be to be in His presence, singing with countless millions..Holy Holy Holy.

i can only imagine, then again, my mind is too limited to even consider the wonders He has for us [IMG]

True Terry, however divide that 31 years into eternity and I think somehow we'll all manage [IMG]

I have no idea how God will sort out the logistics, I guess we all just have to wait and see [IMG] I am sure that all of us there will have more than enough time needed to praise and worship God for His grace, to speak with Him, to learn, to fellowship.

As for the original question, the first thing I'll do when get there...I don't know, but I like the idea of a billion years or so just bowing in worship at His feet. Don't worry, a billion years divided into eternity is not much either ;)

I think second on my list would be sitting in on a Bible study with Paul, Daniel, Moses, Ezekiel, David, Peter, Elijah, and a cast of 1,000s from the baptist board :D
