Tonight on Daystar Network they had a "great" celebration at Ron Phillips church in Tennessee. They had all the charismatic singers from Daystar and also Marcus Lamb preached. But that which topped it off was the appearance on video live from another location of Rodney Howard Browne. Now if a Baptist Church decides that they are going more charismatic, they are autonomous and while I have some concerns do not spend alot of time being concerned. But, when they have a false teacher and false prophet like Rodney Howard Browne the formerly Baptist church now called "Abba's House" has moved into apostacy.

Wondering if anyone else saw it and what you think?

The laughing prophet is just that...

    A Laugh.

God's Word tells us in 1 Corinthians 14 'Let everything be done decently and in order.'

There is nothing decent, nor in order in Mr Brown's meetings.

I agree with standingfirminChrist in what he says about Rodney Howard Brownie. Yet I have at different times seen people get happy in the Lord. Once after praying with a 58-year-old man he kept shaking my hand and finally ended up hugging my neck. I kept telling him that I was merely a messenger and it was Jesus the Lord Jesus Christ that had saved him he said." Yes I understand that praise the Lord but it was you who came and told me about him. His wife later told me that his prayer life was just unbelievably and that she was shocked when she saw him hug my neck and I admit so was I.

I guess I'm out of touch, don't know anything about Rodney Howard Browne. Doesn't sound like anyone I'll be inviting to our church anythime soon, though.

    baptistteacher,

RH Browne is known as the Laughing Preacher. He started the Laughing Revival movement that was pretty big back in the early 90's and is still going on in some churches today.

Sort of a mass hypnotist if you ask me. He waves hankerchiefs or blows on people or just points to them and they begin laughing uncontrollably. Once a few get to laughing, the laughter spreads and everyone is laughing.

He also tells people that they are unable to move from their spot.

The Cathedral of His Glory in Greensboro, NC hosted him back in the 90's and it was utter chaos. Nothing godly about it at all.

I would not consider Phillips to be Baptist. He jumped into the pentecostal deep-end a while back... that's why the SBC kicked him out.

I'd have nothing to do with him, or anyone he endorses from that side of the tracks.

    In Christ,
    Trotter
