Sorry all, I know its been about a month and a half since I been here, but I needed to post this, it's one of those things that the Spirit puts on your heart. You fight it for a while and then say okay and don't do anything, fight it again, and keep on for ____ amount of time and then eventually have to give in.

My question in the topic is: When will we be Christians? This is not talking about salvation. It's talking about spiritual apathy! It's talking about the lack of that "want" to do God's will! When will we EVER get modivated?! - When Bible printing is banned, when the Pledge of Alliegance is unconstitutional, when the nation falls?

I'm sorry, but simply said, I'm sick of "Christians" and I guess that includes me I am sick of myself because I tend to be one of those "Christians." What are you going to do about it? That's my question for you. I've been feeling God telling me there's got to be a revival, a national, a global revival. I've just decided to say ok God. I held things in my heart like, I don't want to because...I won't be popular for my music...I won't be able to "do stuff" with my girlfriend...I will be socially rejected...and so on! But don't you see that none of that matters! Most of it is sin anyways! It's a sin to know what is right and not do it! Read James!

Please, I don't know whether to beg or demand it from you, but please, let's get back to God.

    In Him,
    -CubeX

No one wants or even slightly desires a revival? Anyone other than I Am Blessed? See what I mean? No one has that want for revival in their own lives, church, community, or nation. Start from the inside and then work your way out! Please, step-up.

CubeX - We have folks all the time coming by and condemning us. Chiding us for this or that which they, in their spiritual discernment, saw as evil in us.

So when you come by as a "stranger" and start hooping and yelling and then when nobody answers you within minutes (this ISN'T a chat room; folks answer over periods of days and weeks) you jump on your holier-than-thou soapbox again.

    I responded.

Someone over at First Baptist, Dallas once asked the late, great W A Criswell, "Brother Criswell! Why don't we have revival services like all the other churchs do?"

The famous preacher responded, "Sir! Over here at First Baptist we have revival 52 weeks out of the year!"

    REVIVE US AGAIN
    William P. Mackey 1863

    We praise Thee, O God!
For the Son of Thy love,
    For Jesus Who died,
    And is now gone above.

    Refrain

    Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
    Hallelujah! Amen.
    Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
    Revive us again.

    We praise Thee, O God!
    For Thy Spirit of light,
Who hath shown us our Savior,
    And scattered our night.

    Refrain

    All glory and praise
To the Lamb that was slain,
Who hath borne all our sins,
    And hath cleansed every stain.

    Refrain

    All glory and praise
To the God of all grace,
Who hast brought us, and sought us,
    And guided our ways.

    Refrain

    Revive us again;
    Fill each heart with Thy love;
    May each soul be rekindled
    With fire from above.

    Refrain

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

May the Living Word dwell within our hearts and lives as a mighty flame, which kindles and ignites those around for His glory and purpose.

    A servant of Christ,
    Drew

Actually CubeX, what you are asking for is an "awakening" and that is all of God and none of us.

It will happen in God's time.

You said to read the Book of James...

    James 5
7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

Cubex, I think I understand what you are saying. So many of us get wrapped up in our everyday lives that we forget God and then if something God shows is wrong and it requires change, if it doesn't fit our life we just let it go. That is why in the last days-

1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

In the Old Testament Isreal and God's people needed to repent. The churches in Revelation need to repent. I think the Brother is trying to say that God's people need to get back to God.

Many of the thoughts you have, Cubex, are the same thoughts I have had in my mind, also. I have read a few books on the "Great Awakening", and the Welsh Revivals. Have you ever wondered why there hasn't been any revivals like the ones these areas have experienced in the past, lately?

In studying the occurance of such revivals, one thing was common. They all started with the prayers of one person. But you also have to look at the spiritual condition of the people at the time. God was not someone they had a desire to please. The hearts of the Christians had to be broken, and the desires came back.

I believe that Christians have become complacent. They "straddle the fence" between the world and the Lord, appeasing themselves while they worship God with a mediocre style. Until they reach a level where they can see they are not pleasing in His sight, we may not see a true revival. Too many Christians believe they are living revival, so how can true revival ever occur?

Try praying for revival to begin, in you, with a humble spirit. See what happens.

Actually the definition of an "awakening" is that it happens suddenly with no other explanation of its cause than the unsolicited intercession of God (as far as we can tell).

First and foremost, I am not comming in here as a soap opera. I know how people act and react concerning those situations and I, for one, do not appreciate them at all. I am merely trying to gain your attention! [IMG] I am not saying that I am anywhere above any one of you! :D I'm probably below the most of you!

I;m sorry if any offenses were taken to this post, but I know that an Awakening needs to occur. I have felt the Spirit speak to me about this heavily and I feel led to express this. I am asking for more than a revival. I'm asking for Christians to do as God has instructed AND do it with a voice! We all can do it and are instructed to! Think about this: after the age of 18, 85% of people will not be saved! And also, only a third of teens in America are saved! What are we doing?! No, I'm not calling on everyone to go radical, I'm encouraging everyone to become realistic!

All I can say is that all my life, it has been Christians that made me NOT want to be a Christian. And now, I am saved and I want to be as close to God as possible. I'm gonna fail. Simply put. But I can strive to be the best I can. And you all can too. I know there are people out there who really want a change for the better in the average Christian lifestyle. Why do you think I came to a message board to post this? Because people who actually take time out of their own schedules to talk about God have a little more of a spark under their feet and will respond. We MUST be witnesses.

I'm encouraging everyone to make a change in their lives first, so we can make a change in our nation and the world! And don't respond back with a message saying, "Well that's great for a perfect world..." Wake up! We all know that no matter what, things are gonna get worse. It's the end of times! Jesus said that it would! But WE must live for Christ. All I'm saying is Start Living!

Think we all know what you're saying Cubex and would agree. We all pray for God's movement in the hearts of mankind . . beginning with MY heart!

Yes pray for a movement, but also, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! A weak Christian is spiritually apathetic! We were not calleed to stradle the fence because Satan owns the fence! We need to be willing to have a change. That's the first step. God gave us free-will. We all know that. And God will honor our free-will that He gave us and by that, He leaves it up to us whether or not we want a change and choose that change. I'm not telling you anything you don't know!

I'm not saying it's all fine and well to end this topic with the "I agrees", "Let's pray", and "Amen"s. No, I am absolutely for it! BUt I want us to go ONE step further. And that step is to ask: What are YOU going to do. That includes personally and national things. For example: prayer. That's presonal and already mentioned. BUt there are also things like petitions to get rid of the evil and keep the good in America that you can sign. Look on Focus on the Family. That's just one example.

So the question: What are you going to do?

Me?-I'm going to go through the areas of my life that I know I need work on. I guess I'll look online at articles, lock-down a Bible reading time, and the such. Adn I'll go myself and sign some of those petitions. If I think of more, I'll post it.

    God-bless,
    -CubeX
