I just do not understand this "lawsuit" mentality. When bad things happen it should not mean litigation.

I had a bad experience last week at a spine clinic. My MRI showed a herniated disc. The doctor asked me if I had been in an accident, and I said no, that I had NO idea what happened to cause it. I told him that I have no settlement in the works and that I will be paying my copay and that I am not going to have a drawn out treatment.

He quickly lost interest in me.

    TS,

I don't deny that Carter Fitzgerald got some publicity, maybe even a lot of publicity but, I'm sorry, it's still ridiculous and just plain incorrect to say that they got as much as the firemen did. Even a Google search of Carter Fitzgerald and September 11 brings up two matches as opposed to seventy-six THOUSAND when you match "firemen" with that date. It's one vs. 66,300 when you change September 11 to World Trade Center.

    TS,

Oops, that's "Canter", not Carter, that changes their number to a whopping 406 and 315, respectively when combined with September 11 and World Trade Center. 'Sorry. Point still made.

    You people are something else!

Here is a thread asking, "Where are the Hollywood Democrats." Now, here is someone who is doing something, and you ridicule him. What a joke!

The pathetic point of Sean Penn's efforts is that he had a boat with a motor that didn't start and a hole in it, and a red cup to bail water. The bystander's point was that the small boat was filled with his entourage and a personal photographer. How as he going to help?

That's the funniest thing I've ever seen.

Your list has 2603 dead. Many people have no titles at all.

357 - people have "president" somewhere in their titles. Out of those, 349 are some sort of "vice president"; of those, 107 are "senior vice president", 39 "assistant vice president". That is roughly 13.175 %, but it is up to you to prove that the vice presidents are wealthy (I'll accept presidents, senior vice presidents and executive vice presidents).

319 - firefighters, 12 emergency services personnel. Vice presidents outnumber firefighters, but not by much.

Managers may or may not be wealthy; often it is just a one step above supervisor.

It costs substantially more just to work there (clothes, lunch, transportation, etc) than it costs a poor family (black or white - is that significant?) to live in New Orleans. Housing costs in NYC metropolitan area (which includes parts of NJ and CT) are extremely high.

Fact is, we don't know who is giving what amounts of money. So we don't know who in Hollywood os doing what.
And fact is they can not go down there and hand out food.
I talked with a man last night for info, he is with Ky Baptist Builder Association, he is a building missionary. We'd like to send soem people down ther to help out on fall break, and he said anyone who goes has to go through either the Red Cross, or Salvation Army, and our KBC(SBC) is one of the organizations that works with the Red Cross and Salvation Army for disater relief, they tell us what people and supplies they need and we send it. Anyone, absoutly anyone who goes to La or Mis has to go through these two organizations, no on else is being allowed to go.
So unless someone in Hollywood knows this and can go through these two organizations, then all they can do is give money, and why not, they have so much of it. We can go simply because we are with one of the organizations(hate to use that word of a church, but I mean SBC) who does disater relief.

BTW, I was told the reason being that the Katrina disater is so wide spread, and NY 9/11 was contained to a relatively small area when compared with Katrina damage.

A few city blocks don't compare to a whole city & surrounding area, that is true; it was a clear, sunny day in NY. New York still had it's roads and most the subways and trains. The phone lines were overwhelmed by calls, but they were physically intact, along with electricity, water & sewage. The firetrucks were there within minutes after the first tower was struck.

You are right, the scopes really do not compare.

Yes, and the city was not evacuated and people restricted from entering, everyone in the city was not in the two buildings. In La and Mis everyone in the area was involved and effected, the entire cities (most of the states) is a disaster zone. The goverment is restricting anyone but these two relief agancies from entering. I don't make up these rules, the goverment does. I only told you the information I had on the topic of just anyone who wanted to waltzing into those areas.
