Why must non-Calvinists often make the erroneous assertion that those who are at times referred to as "Calvinist" are followers of John Calvin. When once asked if I were a follower of John Calvin, I quickly replied, "No! I'm a follower of Jesus Christ. He is my Lord, but Calvin is my brother."

It often seems that non-Calvinists assume that Calvinists do not study the Scriptures because they are so busy reading Calvin. You might want to ask why ALL of the Reformers held to the "doctrines of grace" ("Calvinism"). Was it because they had to have a neat little system, or is it because they studied the Scriptures? There are certainly disagreements between those who hold to the doctrines of grace and to those who don't.... Just please stop calling those who hold to them "followers of Calvin." He is neither Savior nor Lord. He is a man, and a dead one at that.
