The thread is about "Where do you get your theological resources from?"

Your link was referred to as an example, not as it you like to vainly believe.

    So get over your vanity.

Many ideals end up being added to Baptist doctrine through use of other denominational theologies.

If this isn't a concern for you, then invite yourself away from this thread to some other plateau.

Sal, I know the KJV has the rendering :"condescend to men of low estate". But in modern parlance, you have a condescending attitude.

Try Romans 12:16 on for size in TNIV-style:"Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not think you are superior."

Try this on for your size: Matthew 7:1-6

Look in any version you desire, but pay special attention to verse 6.

With referring to other sources than Baptist ones, we have invited the charismatic movement, church of God false theologies that make believers think they can be lost again, church of Christ theologies that cause some to think they must be baptized to be completely saved, interdenominational teachings that cause people like Rippon to lash out at those who take a stand for that which is RIGHT!

I can even see Rippon telling Jesus as he formed a whip of cords to drive out the money changers and the sellers of doves, " Now Jesus, you really shouldn't be so harsh and try to exert a loving attitude and simply ask them to change their actions because it might displease God!"

Sir, would I be wrong to ask you if you're stalking me?

You have repeatedly attacked me and accused me of what you have convoluted in your mind and I find it very offensive.

Maybe it would be to your best interest to examine your motives and reconsider whether you should respond to anything I say in the future.

You cannot begin to judge my motives or my attitude as you seem to like to try.

God bless you, or maybe worse.

Maybe the OP should have been called: "Where I don't get my theological resources" instead of the current title.

    I don't get my resources from hyper-Arminian/Pelagian, Ruckman/Riplinger websites. That's for starters.

First John the Baptist is "baptist" and now Jesus is. I guess Moses will be next.

I receive alot of resources through LifeWay and Genevox. I've also read and used Bible studies and resources from Bruce and Stan, Henry Blackaby, Tony Evans, Hank Hanegraaf, Joshua Harris, Max Lucado, Beth Moore, and John Piper. Fire away.

Um, for those who think that Baptists aren't holding dogmatically to what Jesus himself holds to concerning theology, would you care to show us where the Lord differs from what is already established as Baptist doctrine???

Jesus either established the doctrines of Baptists or Baptists are very wrong, just like all other denominations would then be right.

Show me one area that Baptists disagree with anything Jesus ever did or say.

On what Paul later called predestination, election etc. By the way, you act as if all Baptists are on the same page doctrinally. They are not. It's a diverse lot. Many Baptists contradict some teachings of Christ. Away with your monolithic mindset.

So you're saying that Paul contradicted the Lord! Nice one.

I see you fail to understand predestination, God's choosing and election by your remarks.

Many Baptists do contradict some teachings of Christ and to their own shame and eventual demise.

Some Baptists hold to the teachings of Christ knowing Paul never contradicted anything the Lord said.

My "mindset" is a heart knowledge of monogomy concerning one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one Lord of all and over all.

So away with your proliferation of truth to suit your own liking.

It does one alot of good to simply stay with the Bible.

Well----now that you think about it----YES!!!! Moses was a Baptist!!!!

1Corinthians 10:1-2 says, "Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; . . . "-------don't think that what John the Baptist was doing in muddy Jordan was some new "thang!!!!"----Moses did it CENTURIES before John the Baptist ever "saw the light of day!!"

Moses knew what he was doing----and in those baptisms I imagine they would say to themselves----"When Messiah comes, this is what He will do!!!"

Charlton Heston may have known about guns and NRA and things like that-----but Moses???? He knew baptism!!!!!

It was certainly understood he implied it by not directly answering the question. Now if he had said that Baptists have disagreed with those areas he stated that would be different, but he didn't.

Ever hear of taking up an offense on behalf of others?

Even the Bible disagrees with what some Baptists believe about those areas he stated.

If you were to ask me, rippon is attempting to turn this into a calvinism/arminian debate, but since he likes to stalk me..........:wavey:
