I remembered your story... That's why i posted that.. I hope you got a good laugh! What, you mean you don't believe in inspired osmosis?., the holiness from one Bible seeping into the other bible by process of osmosis.

    Me neither.

I rarely get the opportunity to preach. When I do, I use the NRSV. To clarify, sometimes I use the Message, sometimes the NIV. Depends on the congregation.

In teaching, always the NRSV. Sometimes it reads and sounds a little awkward, but I respect the translators attempt to retain as much of the syntax of the original language as possible.

    NIV & ESV

I mean, GOD has blessed its use during most of my ministry years and it doesn't dillute, correct, remove, bend, fold, staple or change any doctrinal truths.

    Pretty neat, huh B.B.B?

Almost, mate. I call it my loose leaf Bible..I have to hold many of the pages in place...I think they made Bibles better in those days.

It came from the UK to Canada, went with me to Korea (50-53) and all through my years as pastor...I still use it.

I have a bigger Bible now with large print, but I still preach from the old one and wear reading glasses in the pulpit...I can't see anyone, but I can still read most of my notes.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Never leave home without a sermon or 50...lol
