This has more to do with the fact that "study" in 1611 meant something different that it does today. There are a great number of 1611 words that no longer has the same meaning:

brass - today, the word is bronze (brass is a different allow)
let - meant "to hinder", today it means "to allow".
suffer - meant "to allow", today it means "to endure hardship".
prevent - meant "to come before", today it means "to keep from happening"
advertise - meant "to give advice", today it means "to announce or publicize".
corn - meant "grain", today it's a specific type of grain.

As much as it is not my favorite, for a young person I would recommend the NIV or the HCSB (Holman) translations. These seem to be the best use in the youth groups in our church.
