Has anyone read Which Version Is The Bible by Floyd Nolen Jones? Not interested in a "Bible Versions Debate," just thoughts one way or another on this particular book. I have had it recommended as one of the better books from the perspective of defending and promoting the Textus Receptus and King James Version. Just wondering what others thought.

    Thanks!

    Nope haven’t read ‘Witch Version...’
But there is a very telling One Star review on Amazon.

So you actually have no REAL input on the question?
Let's see. On Amazon 33 reviews give five-star ratings and 5 give one-star ratings.

Although I've added reviews to Amazon myself, for the most part I don't pay a lot of attention to reviews on Amazon. Is the one to which you refer the one by Jeffrey Skinner?

I read this book back in 2002. The copy I have is the fourteenth edition (1998), and was printed by Waite's The Bible for Today. Perhaps it has been expanded and revised more since the edition that I have. It is based on typical inconsistent KJV-only reasoning. I would not consider it one of the better KJV-only books.

In a quotation that is from Seventh-day Adventist Benjamin Wilkinson’s book, Floyd Jones claimed “the translators of the 1611 had before them four Bibles which had come under Waldensian influences: the Dioadati in Italian, the Olivetan in French, the Lutheran in German, and the Genevan in English” (Which Version, p. 105).

The KJVO position has no foundation to stand upon, as the textual criticism basis denies them, as does the 1611 itself, as the translators never saw themselves as making a final and perfect English translation product!

You apparently have no ability to understand, reason, or write. What part of this is a question about a book and not a KJVO debate do you not understand? I am adding you to my ignore list for now, until I should possibly find any reason to read your posts.

Thanks. I appreciate your opinion -- as well as your ability to post a relevant answer, unlike the previous poster.

The posting was consistent with your question though, as there is really very little any Kjvo book can do to support their held position that makes any sense!

Is there truth to this statement?

Brother Robert I want to thank you for recommending this book I will take a look at it, it seems interesting... You also recommended another book on here which I found interesting and purchased and read... Atonement In The Apocalypse an Expose Of The Defeat of Evil by Robert W. Canoy... At this time I'm reading The Works Of Josephus, War Of The Jews... It may take a while but thank you again my brother for your book recommendations... Brother Glen:)

Thanks, Brother Glen. But to be clear, I haven't read this book, but was rather just inquiring about it. I have had it recommended to me, though.

I also found Canoy's book on the Atonement very interesting.

Yes I understood that Brother Robert... I'm also thinking of purchasing another one on the same subject on the KJV called KJV 400 : The Legacy and Impact Of The KJV by Ray Van Neste, but I don't recall if you were the one that brought it to my attention... I always check out your recommendations and posts... We are all here to learn... Brother Glen:)
