    PeterM...

Bob George seems to have a tendancy to make very blunt statements...like the one you mentioned...but then later you discover that he actually overstated his position.

I've heard him say clearly that we arent to just ignore the OT, but rather that we turn to the New Testament only for our source of pure new covenant doctrine, which of course is true.

When we read the Old Testament, we interpret it through the eyes of the New Testament.

I dont agree with everything he says, but I really enjoy his firm stand for the new covenant being a GRACE centered theology, and his hard stand against legalism.

    Rippon,

Thats fine with me. If a ministry is preaching the true gospel, in love, I am as blessed if its arminian as I am if its calvinistic. It doesnt make an ounce of difference to me if they are arminian or calvinism.

The 2 theologies are flip sides of the same coin.

I'm sure he's not the least bit concerned with calvinism or arminianism right now.

    Havensdad...

    You mentioned Aleister Begg.

Something struck a chord with me there. Maybe I had heard the name somewhere before, or heard a message some time in the past, I dont know.

But I looked him up and listened to an archived message. It was very good.

I'm gonna keep tuning in to his broadcasts. Might become a favorite!

    Yes, he's still very antinominan.

Frankly, I'm really surprised that so many Baptists are endorsing this guy. Maybe I was just naive, but it looks like the Emergent Movement is really gaining a foothold in Baptist circles.

    God help us.
