    Greetings,

There are a number of churches that were founded by Highland Park Baptist Church. HPBC itself was founded in 1890. But does anyone know anything about who founded HPBC? I would appreciate any information. Thanks

J.M. Chauncey. There is a former auditorium on campus maned the Chauncey-Goode Auditorium in his honor.

LOL! I should not post before my first coffee- that should be "named" not "maned".

Yes, I remember the days, also!!

That was the only auditorium they had when I was there. I went once to the new one and thought it looked like they had reclaimed a Sam's Club.

That was HUGE! I remember the first time we met there- it wasn't even for an actual service! I believe it was on a Sunday evening after the regular service. Dr. Faulkner wanted to check the acoustics so we went over to the new auditorium- sans seats, carpet, etc. and sang something- I am not 100% sure- but I think it was "Behold He Comes". Dr. Falukner was pleased. I think it happened about a month before we actually moved in.
