The next couple of posts will deal with Daniel 8. I personally do not necessarily agree with the whole quote, however I am interested in your view of this subject.
Especially the concept of 2,300 prophetic days as years.

I dont brood over who he is or when he is, I put my mind on God and study of his word, I already know how it all ends and we win, that is good enough for me.

I was lost in the first couple of sentences............

For many years the Fundamentalist churches pointed to the pope of Rome as the antichrist. People even had charts demonstrating this stuff in the dispensational circles....I sort of laughed then and laugh still, but it may very well be the pope.

    Cheers,

    Jim

During my life I cannot count the number of people who have been identified, with PROOF, as the anti-Christ.

lI've even heard and read that some people think Barack Obama is the Anti-Christ. If that's the case, who is the false prophet?

The anti-christ could/may be a type of government that will be anti-again CHRIST.

It may not be a living person. Just can't prove it niw but the anti-christ taught in the nt was present in their day.

Let's focus on the concept of 2,300 prophetic days as years. Is there a study here?

No the Bible plainly tells us it will be a man not a government, he will set up a government but it will be a walking talking man..

Yes how I chuckle too when I read Luther, Calvin, the Westminster Confession, etc., agreeing with those Fundamentalist dispensationalists on this point.

Well, I don't put too much time into the whole identifying the anti-Christ thingy. I don't accept the notion of a tribulation or pre-tribulation rapture as part of my eschatology and find the reports of a mythical "anti-Christ" figure to be highly dubious.

The Bible talks too vaguely about it and frankly random speculation has damaged the witness of the Church among the unbelievers around us. The point seems to be many deceivers in the world who target the Church.

Seems to lead one to think that if one individual was out there, they might well profess to be a "Christian."

Uh, about attribution. Even if the author of the O.P. was the one who wrote the twin opening posts, should not attribution be given anyway? You know, so we can find the place where it appeared before?

This clearly Adventist writing has several major flaws.

IMHO: The capital 'A' Antichrist is NOT:

    1. a computer (especially not one in Luxembourg)
    2. a chain of people in an office (especially not the Roman Catholic Papacy)
    3. not a candidate for President of the USofAmerica
(the first presidential candidate I remember being linked with the Antichrist was John Kennedy, the False Prophet for the Pope :( )

IMHO: The Antichrist is a PERSON.

I agree, who did Jesus ID as being the "Son of Predition"???

Jesus also ID John the baptist as being "ELIJAH", but it wasn't the same body that went to heaven in a whirlwind,

and it won't be the same body Judas hung that his spirit from the bottomless pit "Reincarnates" when the "First AC" receives the deadly head wound.

The AC of the first half of the trib rides a "white horse", appearing to be the "Messiah", a "man of peace", he's not part of the New world order, but does seize control of it from them, he come up from a "small people", one reason God chose Israel, and Jew won't accept anyone as Messiah who isn't "Jewish".

This AC of the first half won't be revealed until after the "Comforter/Church" is raptured, people will say "At last, peace and safety", but Mid trib, he is killed/reincarnated by the spirit from hell, and from that point on until Jesus returns to stop it, it will be "hell on earth".

One point many overlook/don't know, Arabs consider "Abraham" to be their father also, and the inheritance through Ishmael rather than Isaac,

Many say Arabs will never accept a Jew as Messiah, and they are also looking for their "IMAM" messiah, so if the AC said he was a "SON OF ABRAHAM", Arabs would accept him through Ishmael, Jews through Isaac.

    Problem solved.
