    If Baptist (generally) are not similar to or like the first-century churches, then which one(s) come closer?

    I am a Baptist because of the following:

    On June 7, 1982. I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour and Lord.

    In 1984, after a horrible problem in the Baptist Church I was saved in; I was lured into the false Christian religion of Pentecostalism.

    In 2004, after many years in that false christian cult. I left. Thanks in part to the writings of a one, David Cloud. (God Bless that man...)

    I am happy to report; that I am now firmly in the Baptist camp. Fundamentalists might not be perfect; but they are not nearly as crazy as what I was once involved in.

    It's good to be home. :thumbs:

    I grew up in a Baptist home....I was saved in a Baptist Church...and since I live in the parsonage ...and am the pastor..(and some days I don't like him very much)..it literally IS the closest church to my house....as for 'other' I belive through serious study that Baptists are Scriptural and correct in their understanding of the Bible.

    It's a been a tough road for me. :tear: I've lost friends over my decision.
