    Bible studies

    Sometimes a thread or post will stimulate a personal Bible study...that is my main reason.

    Why am I on the BB?

    Plus at least the four other 'smilies' among "laugh", " confused", "rolleyes", "grin", "eek" "thumbsup", and "frown" that this format will not let me include, any longer. ;)

    On a serious note, I read to learn; I post primarily to teach and correct, and sometimes laugh.

    And to say that I do not usually actually vote in polls, because I do not like the choices presented.

    This was no exception.

    When I first came here, it was to tell everybody how wrong they are.

    Now, it's to learn from some people who's opinions I really respect.

    For a long time, I stopped discussing doctrinal things here and just kept myself in the music forums, but now that ChristianForums is becoming such a doctrinal cesspool, I find myself posting more and more in the doctrinal areas.

    Thanks to David Lamb and LeBuick for asking about my cold. I think it's a little better, but I used videos today instead of preaching. My voice is still shot. And I learned that Mr. U. has had the same cold (an Asian variety evidently) for three weeks, the other Mr. U. has it and couldn't come to church since it interferes with his interferon treatment. And our Downs girl Ai apparantly has it too. So all in all I'm in good shape.

    I've been blessed by the replies. There have been some good testimonies here of grace and growth, and I've not been disappointed in a single answer. Well, except that EdSutton COULD maybe have found some way to participate in the poll.... :D :D But he informed us anyway. :thumbs:

    P. S. Have you noticed that "Growth" is the clear leader right now with 11 votes? I didn't really expect that, but it's a very good sign! "Debate" and "Hobby" come in second with 9 apiece.

    I chose "growth" because I've learned SO much from all of you here. I enjoy a good debate now and again (on topics that I feel I can contribut - but I WILL read a lot more than I get involved in) and I know that I can post a question here and get a wide range of mostly Godly answers. :) I've really come to look up to some of you, admire you and enjoy your fellowship.

    I chose Other because I wanted to choose more than one reason. So, with some alterations I believe that I can convey why I am here. Hobby being the first and primary reason.

    More than anything I enjoy learning about the God I worship and what others have learned about Him. I feel I've learn a lot of things that I might not have thought of checking in to had it not been for BB.

    I chose growth because I have learned sooo much in the time I've been here. Debating has forced me to dig deep into scripture in order to support my views and consequently has caused me to sometimes change my views or learn something new altogether.
    I originally joined because I wanted to be able to talk to like people about my favorite subject...God.

    I have learned tons about the scriptures and also how to talk to people in a more loving and graceful way. (Not always successful in that area, to my shame.)

    I've enjoyed getting to know all of you guys and love you all as well. :love2:

    Seriously, originally I joined here out of curiosity. While I had family members who were SBC employees I did not feel comfortable joining in the discussion. Now I stay around because I enjoy the abuse I get for my posts. :tonofbricks:

    Isn't that the way it usually works around here?



    I am here primarly for fellowship, now. The BB is a great group of people who can always be counted on to pray for me.

    When I first joined I had just been saved and was looking for growth. The debates here made me look into my bible and study, that brought about alot f growth. I still find things here that make me study, and I still grow from what I read.
