    Oh man!
I think you cannot comprehend it.
Then it's senseless to talk about it.
If you're one of the super duper christians which never ever doubt then rejoice....

    JJ,

You accuse others of judging you without knowing the whole story - don't do the same to Diane.

We constantly give you scripture which you seem to ignore. You're right. I honestly cannot understand your problems but would encourage you to go back to the MANY threads you have started questioning God and read every Bible verse presented. Next, find a preacher and talk to him about your doubts. Also, pray and tell the Lord you want more faith. 'I believe.. help thou my unbelief' is a good place to start.

God is never a stranger to his children, Jimbo. When God seems far off, it's not HE who moved...

The promise is that all things shall work together for good to those who love God. Either accept that by faith, or live a life of doubt and despair.

Trusting in your own wisdom rather than faith in God will send you along the path you're traveling. Lean not upon your own understanding. All believers should realize that we have the victory. Whose side are you on?

I pray that God will give you the faith you need soon if it is God's Sovereign Will. If it isn't, there is no hope for you, because you will never figure it out on your own and with your own understanding.

Diane maybe Jimbo means falling away?

~Jimbo do you mean falling away? Like in the scripture .....2 Thess 2:3
    Let no man deceive you by any means : for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first , and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition ;

JJ, if you are a new believer (and I can't recall if you said you are or not), then you should understand that it takes time to grow faith. Yes, we are all assailed by doubts from time to time, but if we continue to read God's word and learn to trust Him, our faith does grow. But it takes time.

Passages or stories like Job will come to mean more and more rather than causing you to doubt God's goodness and wisdom. The way God does things is something we cannot always understand -- He is the creator of life and has the right to take it. However, that does not mean God is arbitrary - He is not. He is patient with us and He does not get angry if believers sincerly question or doubt. However, it's up to you to continue to believe in God's mercy and justice -_ God never does anything unjust. But you have to give yourself time and you have to realize that faith and trust in God does not come overnight.

Diane, C4K and others have given you good answers here. Read them over, ask God for understanding, trust Him rather than in your own understanding.

I notice that you have a lot of frowny-face posts.

As for Job being "unnusual". You are certainly right that I would not want to be stuck in job's shows as the "lesson book" for that chapter 1 and chapter 2 "Council" where Satan himself is a member.

However - in Daniel 7 we find that in the history of the earth - the saints are functioning in the same role.

According to Daniel 7 the court sits, the books are opened and judgment takes place (Some time after the breakup of the Roman empire into its 10 parts). The judgment group invovles myriads and myriads of heavenly beings - and God.

It is not until "Judgment is passed in favor of the saints" Vs 22-24 that the persecution of the saints ends according Daniel 7.

That is exactly what we see illustrated in Job.

As in the case of Job - God was not the one that had to take time to figure something out - it was the other members of the council. So also in the DAniel 7 case.

    In Christ,

    Bob

Satan is a creature of God and therefore obeys God. There is obviously a relationship between creator and creature in Job. Thought: could maybe Satan work to further God's purpose?
