I wanted to start a new topic on this since it was a little off topic and I didn't want to change the focus of someoen's thread.

My question is if people are christians(and I'm not saying any one isn't christian) why and how can they beleive in this stuff? It seems so obvious that it's all wrong and eveen evil. Why do they not see it's not God?

Becasue they lack Biblical discernment. They would rather be lead by their feelings, and the false teachers that arise allows them to be lead this way instead of by the scriptures.

Because people must regurgitate that which they can't properly digest. They must throw up their lack of biblical and spiritual discernment as a flag of spirituality, in order to make themselves feel better about the fact that they don't know where these feelings and actions are coming from.

Just makes ya wanna puke, doesn't it?

That was sick, Don. Funny, but sick.

No, I cannot understand all the bullstuff that people are willing to swallow. It seems that so long as you are willing to whip people into a frenzy with rhythmatic choruses and hyped-up exhortations, and have a few people to "lead" (either prompted or just get the idea themselves), people will follow suit every time.

I used to want to experience that stuff, but I just couldn't "let go and let God" because it didn't look, sound, or act like God. It is my understanding that God is not the author of confusion. All of this stuff sounds more like a carnival to me.

But, then, I am just a SBC stick-in-the-mud. Go figure.

    In Christ,
    Trotter

    True Story

A young preacher friend of mine was preaching a revival at a local church, and just before preaching time, something in "Sister Jones'" meal did not agree with him--he ran to the bathroom, threw up, and returned from the bathroom in time to preach. The problem is, his lapel mike was on and the congregation heard the whole thing. He started off by saying, "well, you can really say that the preacher preached his guts out tonight."
