Well, I hope the Bilderbergers turn on obama.

I am still frosted about the incandescent light bulb ban. That was a Republican idea which passed overwhelmingly by both parties. Now some Republicans are opposed, including Congressman Upton who introduced the bill, due to public outcry and the stupidity of it (mercury poisoning, etc.) Now I am glad they oppose that idea they used to advocate.

There is less mercury in a CFL light bulb than there is in a can of tuna.

No doubt. Obama neoconned the left like the Bushes neoconned the right.

So, now that we're all neocons lets have more wars, more debt, bigger government, more groping, more police state, and let's have the military policing the citizenry on every street corner.

There is a small amount of mercury in each CFL, necessary for the function of the bulb, about 4mg on average, with some newer bulbs having as little as 1.4mg. There is no exposure to mercury from using CFLs, as long as they are not broken. Even if a bulb is broken the exposure to mercury is negligible, far less than eating a tuna fish sandwich.

Those extreme methodologies that the Luddites were zinging around in emails a few years ago have been abandoned. Updated guidelines aren't as strict.

Well, fine, but add up the millions that will be thrown in the trash and get crushed and end up in landfills that will end up in our water table and we will have mercury poisoning. No worry for me....I have stockpiled and continue to stockpile every time I go to a store that still sells the old bulbs, all sizes and shapes.

You also miss the point that these CFLs are all made in China and regular light bulb plants have been shut down and people lost their jobs.

    And get this:

Back to the topic, Republicans have made some terrible mistakes, such as passing the Michele Obama school lunch program which the kids throw away (funded by our tax dollars literally going in the garbage) and passing the START treaty.

I hope Republicans got the message in 2010 when we sent a lot of new faces to DC. There should definitely be term limits for Congress.
