    Yes

I should report your intentional misuse of my name, but why play little children's games, there's enough of that which keeps people at home and away from your church.

Just trying to be nice.. Pal... didn't mean to misuse your name by calling you PAL... Unless I spelled it wrong...

And I wanted to use the :tongue3: smiley...

Your use of it reminds me of someone that used to use it a lot on this board at one time... :tongue3:

Have a nice day... I think I will find a rock to sun my self on.

    Still a child.

I wonder what your congregation thinks of your attitude? We'd dismiss you, today, with no severence nor warning.

Sorry, I don't subscribe to your defintion of "trying to be nice".

I go to church so I can be nice to people struggling with sin, especially since many come seeking help, but you "try to be nice" ok?

Should Acts 2:42 be the reason we go to church?

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."

I do think that is the most important spiritual gift. It keeps all the other gifts going.

In response to the thread title some have said they attend church services to worship. That's good. How do you worship? No, the original question as title to this thread and now, this question of how do you worship, are legitimate and I'm not playing a word game.

I've been saved since 1972 and recently while listening to a sermon on WOTJ Radio I had to ask myself..., How Does One Worship The Lord? Does my attendance in Church equate to Worship?

Many attend church for all the right reasons according to what they have seen and been told but are we just attending because of those reasons only?

Everywhere I turn, almost every sermon I hear and through-out the Bible reference is made to the Power Of God and it's availability to us yet so many churches are simply luke warm with declining membership. The members show up, sit around for an hour or so, go home and come back later in the week.

Where's this Power we have been promised? I am of the opinion that too many adult church members really don't think much about worshiping the Lord. They don't know how. Sunday School begins at 10 AM but many have no clue as to why it starts at 10 AM or why they should even be there..., outside of habit.

I am of the opinion that too many Christians have shot themselves in the foot and are missing out on the blessings just waiting for them and they don't even realize it. To many have "no" power as a Christian.

    I agree 100%

I call it cultural Christianity. It was what they were raised to do.. to do the right thing... and going to church on Sunday morning is the right thing to do .... soooo they still go to church on Sunday morning, but don't really know why.

BTW... I also wonder how many knows why most Sunday Schools start at 10 and the Worship starts at 11. I was taught why.. but many don't know why.

It's so we can get a couple of hours extra sleep and mama can get the roast in the oven for Sunday dinner before she has to leave the house!

Because the nature of sheep is to flock, and there is safety among the flock.

You have a good point there Theopolis. But some find a false feeling of safety that is promoted by attending, rather than believing.

Not only a Bible believing church, but a church that acts on what the Bible teaches...

I have seen some that will stand on the Bible and Biblical doctrines, but never put into action those things they say they believe.
