Do a web search. How many Catholic sites are there out there? Thousands upon thousands that are spreading there doctrine. Some of them are directly anti-protestant apologetic set up to defend the Catholic faith while at the same time attacking other faiths. Don't you think fair is fair?

I hope this good point doesn't get brushed aside. I would like to hear a catholic response.

When I was a Catholic, I eventually came to the realization that I could not believe in the doctrines of transubstantiation, infallibility of the pope, the Immaculate Conception, Assumption of Mary, purgatory, indulgences, etc. I was well into my 30's before I actually read the bible apart from the readings at mass. After reading through the New Testament, I realized that I could not be a true Christian and remain part of a denomination that taught those things.

At that point, I had no choice but to leave the Catholic Church. I know of many former Catholics who came to the same conclusion.

God Bless you for taking a very simple step. That is reading the bible and matching it up with catholic doctrine. If it doesn't agree, simply move on, because you are not ever going to reform those who love their powerful positions!
