I'm not sure if I understood you correctly. Are you saying that there is no way people can be born gay?

The gay people I know believe in Jesus. Is that an oxymoron?
</font>
That would mean God created them specifically to sin in homosexuality. We are all born with the sin nature, period. Born with the abiltiy and desire to sin, yes. Born genetically to be homosexual, no. We are born genetially to have our hair and eye color, short or tall, but in scripture men are men and women are women, and God put the two together. Homosexuality is condemned in scripture, not approved. Theres a pattern from beginning to end in scripture, and homosexuality is not in it.
Even satan believes in Jesus. So what does that mean. Nothing for his eternity. Jesus said there will be many who will call Him Lord, but it will mean nothing, why, because HE never knew them.

See, these people, who are christians, sound just like the rest of us. They know their homosexuality is wrong, struggle with it, desire not to do it. Sounds like the rest of us in our own pet sins (and we all have them, none is perfect). But a homosexual who does not see a problem with homosexuality, does not believe it is a sin and it's ok with God to be homosexual, has a real probelm, they are not desiring obedience to God.

My daughter in laws brother is homosexual, and this is exactly what I beleive happened to him, in his case it is obvious.
But on the other hand, me and my brother were raised with only one parent(mom, no men in our lives) and he is perfectly happen NOT being homosexual.

We are all born with a proclivity to sin. We are born with a desire to fulfill our fleshly desires.
This is the same for all people. In this regard you are correct, we are all born as sinners. Thar does not negate the sin. Full deliverance from the penalty and power of sin, no matter what the sin, is possible only through Christ.

Oh, okay. I thought you meant those who opposed homosexuality.

I can understand where you're coming from, because I too used to think that after the cross, there were still 'lost' souls that 'needed to be saved'.
But, think about it.
If the Bible said that the angel Gabriel told Joseph to call the baby Jesus 'because he shall save his people from their sins, where is this saving of his people going to happen ? At the cross, or at the preaching of the gospel ?
If the writer of Hebrews said that Christ entered into the holy place bearing his own blood for the eternal redemption of 'us all', then does 'us all' include only those who are God's people at the writing of Hebrews, or does 'us all' mean all who are God's people in all ages and in all generation everywhere.

There have never been lost souls, because those who will be saved have always been 'in Christ', and Christ is the Lamb slain from before the foundation of the world.
There are lost sheep, but Jesus have already brought them all back into His fold with His blood.
A sheep may be born with homosexual tendencies, and actually practice it, but if he is one of God's own then at the point of regeneration, he will be brought around by the Holy Spirit.

As for the Great Commission ?
Even Calvinists say the Great Commission, if there is such a thing, was given to the church, but I submit to you that it was not given to the church but to the Apostles only, and they did a wonderful job of spreading the gospel after God scattered them through Paul whom God later turned around and used for His glory.
The command to preach the gospel then passes on to those who are in the ministry, not the church.
And the reason for preaching the gospel is education and edification of God's people, as many as the gospel preacher can be directed to by the Holy Spirit.

There is a theory that suggests that if a woman is under severe stress in the final weeks of pregnancy that the baby may be born with a Homosexual orientation.

Ellis and Ames concluded from a study of 283 women that sexual orientation of human offspring ‘may be altered by severe maternal stress during pregnancy’.

Ellis, L. and Ames, A., 1988. Sexual orientation of human offspring may be altered by severe maternal stress during pregnancy. The Journal of Sex Research, 25(1):152–157 (p. 152).

I'm not sure if the analysts determined what kind of stress was involved in the study Ben cites, but maybe that still points to a problematic father figure--not being properly supportive during the last weeks of pregnancy.

Of all the case histories of homosexuals I know, all have had either a weak, non-leading father or the opposite, a domineering father, often abusive in some way. In either scenario, the child does not develop a proper respect for the male role in a family, hence either a rejection of men (lesbianism) or an effeminisation of men. The absence of a father altogether seems to generate different problems to deal with.

Regardless, this early identity crisis makes homosexuals think they were "born that way", when in reality they were not--but it is associated with their earliest self-awareness. Yes, they were born sinners, and Satan will bend them in the easiest way he can. For some, that is homosexuality, for others it may be heterosexual promiscuity.

Regardless, I believe that unhealthy marriage/parental relationships are the biggest catalysts for sexual sins in the children. In saying so, I would not exempt Christian familes from this problem, even if they appear to be "godly".

I'm gay because gay means happy and not homosexual. It's those homosexuals who have taken my rainbow (God's promise to Noah that he wouldn't flood the earth anymore)and my word gay (which means happy)& used it for themselves.

</font>
If you can prove to me that there is something in someone's DNA that makes them gay, then I will concede the point. Not something that makes them seem more feminine to the culture by the way their voice sounds, but something that makes them lust after another person of their same gender. You won't be able to prove it because it isn't there. People choose homosexuality for the clear and simple reason that they are totally depraved sinners. We did not choose it for the clear and simple reason of God's grace.

There is now and always has been from the Garden of Eden the blame game.
Blame sin on everyone except the sinner himself.

The serpent made me do it.
The woman made me do it.

And then the ultimate blame, God.

3:12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

It must me a great thing to have the whole world tightly tucked in your "belief box". I'm wondering...just how long and how hard did you work to get this in your box? Do you have the outside of your box duct taped? I hope so.

Joseph's "belief box" on this issue is sealed and duct taped. It is found in the word of God and it is a done deal.

"If you can prove to me that there is something in someone's DNA that makes them gay, then I will concede the point"--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The definitive study on this involved identicle twins separated at birth. In the case where one twin was gay there was a 50 chance that the other was gay. This is absolute proof that they aren't borne that way. If it was genetic, then it would have to be a 100 percent corelation between people with identicle genes. But a 50 percent corelation is high. This suggest that certain genetic make ups are more prone than others. But this does not make one gay any more than a genetic make up that is more porne to alcohalism makes one drink.

Yet it does happen early in life, and a respected christian psychologist says he has never met a gay man who had a loving relationship with his father. It does seem to them that they were borne that way. So we should speak the truth to them but speak it compassionantly.

Bunyon, your respected Christian psychologist must have met very few gay men.

Cindy,

Do you have some evidence that some people are born with a gene that makes them lust after other people of the same gender? I am not asking if some have a gene that makes them walk and talk more feminine...I mean something that makes them lust after someone their own gender. What, exactly, is your expertise in this area?

I've neve met one who had a good relationship with his father either. I can't remember his name now, but one of the psychologist who was instermental in having homosexuality taken of the list of abnormalities, did some of his more recent studies and has changed his mind. He thinks some homosexuals can change, and now he is ostricised for it. That is close mindedness.

Cindy,

I have to go to bed now. If you want to, post your evidence, and I will try to read and respond when I get a chance. I have Church, family portraits, and a United States Marine Corps Band Concert to attend tommorow.

Good Night,
