    Accuracy.

    Readability.

    Contemporary for the most part.

Emphasis on the Holy Spirit in Paul.

    Healthy footnoting.

    No slighting of women.

*Now these are some of the reasons I use the TNIV as my primary text.

    Well, shucks.

You've just given me an excuse to add another Bible to the 40 or 50 that I already have.

Curiosity killed the cat...and the pocket book.

Is there any place I can preview it online?

I really enjoy the TNIV. It is one of my favorite Bibles and this is for the reasons listed in the OP.

Why do I read the TNIV? Because it is holy Scripture, the written revelation to humanity from the one true God.

I don't use the TNIV exclusively. Is the TNIV perfect? Probably not. God is using the TNIV. If its good enough for God, its good enough for me.

Franlin, there's no perfect translation out there.

In fact, there are some renderings in the TNIV that I don't like.

Since I'm a traditional kind of guy, I read the NIV.

Some scholars who endorse the TNIV are still using their NIVs.

What is the difference between the TNIV and the NIV?

    About 7-10 % revisions.

    "Brothers" vs "Brothers and sisters"

and more emphasis on the Spirit, esp. in Paul.

And some tweaking of sentence structures and so on.

For the most part I disliked the NIV, but now I've fully embraced the TNIV.

    How weird!

Maybe "Thanks, TCGreek!" would have been enough. That's 15 characters plus a space thrown in for good measure.

Please recognize that just because you don't "like" them doesn't mean they're necessarily wrong. It sounds like a personal preference thing.
