The point is that the current threat of terror around the world - not just against the U.S. is from a subset of the Muslim world.

    The threat is real.

Denying it will not make it go away.

You can not fight a problem until you understand the problem.

Your insipid response tells me that you do not understand the problem.

Just having to ask this question implies that you really have no concept of the problem.

I For starters, acknowledge that it ain't Grandma who needs to be searched at the airport, but any, ANY, ANY, mid-eastern male who wants to board, and DO IT!!!!

II Quit being so PC, and admit that there are people who STILL want to kill us:
    1) In spite of electing the first black POTUS
    2) Because we are not them
    3) Because we are the USA
    4) Any other of a multitude of reasons of which only THEY are aware.

III Get serious about illegal immigration and the attendant potential for terrorist entering the country this way.

IV Get serious about investigating the mosques and their teachings to the Muslims while in this country and exposing the anti-USA rhetoric that may be uncovered and any potential home-grown terrorists.

I'm not a security person, and these came to mind just quickly considering the problem.

Surely there is far more that can be done that the average person is unaware of!!??

JWP, you gave a good response; unfortunately, I don't think Paul really believes there is a problem...or that even if there is, that we could do anything about it.

Such thinking is part of what got us in the mess we're in.

==Neither was John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, etc. Being in the military is not a requirement to be president.

==Again, many of our founders were never in a military (etc). Simply because a person has not been in the military does not mean that they have no idea what it means to have honor. Since when did being in the military become a requirement for honor?

==Most Americans do not understand how our current enemy thinks and I will include the majority of conservative Christians in that "most". Our current "war on terror" is, first and foremost, a spiritual war (Eph 6:12). Who do you think inspires the terrorists who kill innocent people? None other than the devil and his minions. I have said before, and I now say it again, that I believe Bin Laden is demon possessed. Military, police, and political action is secondary to the very real spiritual war being waged here. Until Americans understand that, this "war on terror" is just going to keep going in circles.

==You had me on board until that last sentence. I believe the war in Iraq was misguided. Why? Because it is not our job to nation build in hostile countries.

==IMO, there are many reasons why Obama is not a "good Commander-in-Chief". Not one of them has to do with his lack of military experience. My reasons have to do with his liberal policies.

I reject the notion that a person must have been in the military (etc) to know the true price of freedom. Every American who knows the history of this country, every Christian who knows the history of salvation, should know the price of freedom. If they don't know the price then it is not because they were not in the military. Rather it is because they are ignorant of history. Granted that is a far too common sickness in our country today.

    Thanks for the Thoughts...

You need to reread my entire post. I am not saying that he is a bad CIC due to lack of military experience. I am saying that he is a bad CIC because he fails to give the military and the long, bloody, dedicated military history of this nation the credit that it is due. He went to Europe and apologized for every American, and the military was included in his apologies. He had NO RIGHT, and NO NEED TO APOLOGIZE for anything that this nation has done, or ever will do.

Every nation on earth has "so-called skeletons in their closets" and I've not yet heard Russia, France, England, Cuba, Japan, China, the Arab world, Ireland, Scotland, Africa, etc., offer an apology for their arrogance, atrocities, and multitude of mistakes over the centuries.

Obama "dissed" this nation, it's military, and every man, woman and child that ever lived. It was the spirit of American history that brought us to this point in time, and while we've made mistakes, we are not required to offer explanations and apologies for our "good, bad and questionable decisions and choices over the past 200 plus years.

When the Nations who have been here longer than us apologize, than we can consider doing the same. Until that day, we owe no one an apology for looking out for the citizens of this nation.

Sure we've had a lot of dark days, but, what nation and civilization hasn't?

Obama became nothing more than a "wimp, blown by the winds of time" the day he stood before mankind and told the world the USA was less than honorable. It was Obama who was less than honorable, and I still believe he should be impeached for his "less-than-honorable" actions in the name of foreign relations.

His apologies still got him burnt effigies, and rants of hate by the enemies of the USA. Nothing he did earned us respect. It only sealed in the minds of our enemies that we were truly the "Great Satan!" So, thank you mr. obama. You did us all proud!

    Shalom,

==Ok. I agree with you on that. Such failure is one of the major downfalls of liberalism. Our military is, in my mind, the best in the world. Whether it is on the battlefield or on the mercy field, our military is top notch.

==Apologies are never a bad thing. However he looked really weak going around apologizing. The POTUS should not engage in that kind of "hat in the hand" type of behavior. I think he was motivated by the same irrational guilt that tends to motivate most liberals. They are ashamed of America's success.

Isn't It Great How the Holy spirit Can Bring Us Together?

Thanks for your considerate words. I agree with you too. The liberal/socialist movement in America are "ashamed" of our success.

As for war and the atrocity's, war is "hell" and when you are fighting for your life, survival takes over, and survival is often ugly.

I'd ask my dad what he did in WWII, and he'd tell me "whatever it took to get back home." He'd say, "Paul, I'm not proud of what I did, or what my unit did to win the battles we were in, but, we beat back Hitler's men, and kept the world free from the Nazi idealisms."

I'd have to say, that while we may not be proud of our basic human survival skills and actions when face-to-face with death, war is hell, and it sometimes took us down to the pit of hell to win the war."

Liberals, and do-gooders don't have the guts to do what is necessary to secure the victory, and that is what could bring us down if Obama gets a second term!

    Blessings in Jesus,

Obama sees the terrorists as a victim and we are the bully's. He sympathizes with them.

    He Symapthizes With Them Because...

he is more than likely in bed these guys... I have always believed that he is a closet Muslim, and I have a sneaking suspicion that Obama would love to see America lean toward the Muslim religion.
