Why SHOULD we study escatology??

    Anyone think the people waiting to go into Hitler's gas chambers cared that at some future time things might get real bad?

    Anyone put off fixing their roof because Jesus might return?

    Anyone willing to trash the planet because things have to get worse before Jesus can return?

    We should study eschatology so that all the people who post on the BB can get it right. :saint:

    Noah was preaching an "end of world" escatology topic in his day - and people "did not want to think about it" - but as it turned out - it was important to know what was going to happen.

    God sends us warnings about the end of the world and in one of them (2Thess 2 to be exact) HE says that a huge problem at the end is deception due to the convincing miracles and wonders that will be brought about at the end. Christ said in Matt 24 "so that if it were possible to deceive the very elect" -- this is "a hard final test" according to God -- so sleeping before the final won't cut it.

    Paul says in Eph 6 "having done EVERYTHING - stand firm".

    He does not claim that you have a ticket so you will make it - he claims that you have to put on the full armor or you are toast.
