    What would happen if we based our foreign policy on the bible ?

    Now there is a question for you. But maybe we should put that in a different thread.

    That is a great question. Why not start a thread with that as the title and subject.

    1Co 13:11 - When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

    So apparently you are not going to address the quotes, only the attention grabbing headline?

    I am not going to give any amount of attention to such foolishness. And the headline has no bearing on this in my mind. Only that quote I listed and the supportive responses.

    One of the saddest people a person can meet is a man who has no little boy left in him ---

    those who no longer wonder the miracles at God's world around him;

    those who no longer have enthusiasm about life and what they are doing;

    those who have lost their fun-loving spirits;

    those who cannot delight in simply being alive.

    Personally, I do not think we should ever have a "Winnie the Pooh" or Luke Skywalker in the State Department.

    It would probably cause Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy to have to seek other employment. :rolleyes:

    (Don't send them to the Department of Defense, either! I cringe at the thought of Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam being armed and unemployed, with both having an itchy 'trigger finger' and no good place to shoot!) :laugh: :laugh:

    I thought we already have had them. Bush is like Fudd and Rumsfeld was Sam! :thumbs:

    Okay, I understand. The quote you chose is valid for discussion and any other quote is foolishness.

    Hard to win an argument in a case like this.

    Let me drag this one quote from the article in the OP back to the forefront.

    Are there not many times in foreign and economic policies where the policy consists of nothing more than "bumping along"as the only way we know.

    Often, they must be a better way and a better solution, but we are far ro be carrying on as the only way.

    Could we not use a wise leader, certainly not Obama is this case. who would be willing to "stop bumping for a minute and think about it?"

    I am amazed that there are adults who really believe that these stories were only written for children with no application of morals for real life.

    I guess those same ones would say that Aesop's fables are only kiddie stories?

    Well, I like Pooh Bear. And I like the "Christopher Robbins"song. And I love Tigger.

    And I'm watching "Looney Toons" as we type.

    I'm thinking Bugs Bunny would be a little too provacative to base our foreign policy.

    And Popeye ? Well, I think that's what we have, now.

    OK, Pooh it is.
