Roman Catholic St. Malachy(1094-1148 AD) was an irish monk while, on a visit to Rome, said he'd received a prophecy about all the popes who would ever reign. He wrote this prophecy down in 1139 & entrusted it to Pope Innocent II in 1140, but it was supposedly "lost" & "re-discovered" in the Vatican in 1595. (Malachy went on to predict the date & place of his own death, Clairvaux, France, Nov.2, 1148. His body was examined to see if he'd taken his own life to make his prediction come true, & no evidence of foul play or poisoning was found.)

A Benedictine monk named Arnold De Wyon published Malachy's prediction of the Poped in 1595, and the Vatican claims no evidence was found that De Wyon had made up the prediction himself.

The late "prophetess" Jeane Dixon(1904-1997) made a prediction that Francis would be the last Pope, which jives with Malachy's list.

    Looks all hunky-dory, right?

    MMRRPP! WRONG!

First, Malachy predictrf only 111 more popes; his list ended with Benedict XVI. Current Pope francis was not on the list. A 112th pope was added when the list was published in 1820! And Malachy's last Pope was to have something to do with an olive, and be called "Peter the Roman". The olivetans are part of the Benedictines, and while Benedict took that name, HE WAS NOT A BENEDICTINE. Now, is either he or Francis a Roman. Benny is German: Frankie is Argentinian.

And while Jeane Dixon scored on meny of her predictions, the PROOF she was NOT a prophetess of GOD'S is that a large number of her predictions failed completely. Some of her failures are:

Fidel Castro would be physically removed from Cuba against his will.
Russia would land the 1st man on the moon.
    Pres. Nixon would not resign.
The Vietnam war would end by 1966.
The Panama Canal treaties would not be approved.

Now, a TRUE PROPHET OF GOD'S must hit 1.000 in his/her predictions, and Mrs Dixon did not do so. And the authenticity of Malachy's predictions can't be verified, especially the addition of the current Pope to it.

Now, both Mrs. Dixon and Nostradamus wrote that a pope would be assassinated, with Mrs. Dixon scoring on the assassination attempt on John Paul II. This remains to be seen as to whether it happens or not.

Conclusion: Personally, I don't believe either Malachy nor Jeane Dixon was a prue prophet! God says a true prophet of His will bat 1.000 in prophecy accuracy, and neither one did. Several popes in Malachy's list did not have the traits & characteristics he attributed to them, such as neither the last Pope nor the current one being a Roman.

Anyone else have any thoughts about whether Francis is the last Pope or not?

(This is important because the RCC seems more-opposed to Baptists than against any other Protestant faith!)
