Debbie, they claim to believe the Bible. Have you asked her why they Bible would say something like that?

Oh Helen, we have been over that point. She is so defensive of that "I was born mormon" garbage, it is like I am attacking her heritage. So she tunes out what I say......and yes, they believe that the KJV is the most accurate Bible, "in so far as it is correctly translated" is what they always tack on to that phrase. That's why it is important to use KJV too....they absolutely have been taught that any other version is false.

That's why I only quote scripture nowadays.

Remember, Mike only got saved in June of last year, he is growing in
the Word, and has been reading the Bible to her every night. I trust God to open her eyes and her heart through the reading of His Word.

If he is able to read aloud from the Bible to her, and she is accepting it, maybe suggest that he read starting with Isaiah 40 and go for several chapters there. A number of times God states in those verses that He is the only God, that He knows of no other, and that He is the one who stretched the heavens and formed the earth, etc. They are pretty positive statements!

However, those are the verses that also caused Melissa's bishop (my close friend when I was in my twenties, who lived across the street from us) to forbid her to talk to me again...

edit: LOL, Melissa was my close friend, not her bishop....had to laugh when I saw how I phrased that....
