My wife has a male GYN. No problems with that here. He is a Christian, a member of our church and he is highly respected.

This is the exact type of thread that gives fuel to the myths about the Baptist faith that are rampant in the general population, and that is, we live by two thousand "don'ts" and lead a miserable, dejected, strict, burdensome life, that has nothing to do with the Gospel or Scripture.

So in now we can add to the don't dance, don't play cards, don't go to the movies, read KJV only crowd, now we have a new member, no women doctors. (Gossip and gluttoney are still acceptable)

The only condemning I've seen is from your side of the argument. The question was posed whether or not people would be comfortable with a woman doctor. I, and others have responded, that we prefer not to have a woman doctor. I've given a specific example as to when I would not like a woman doctor. Where has anyone from "my side" told anyone from "your side" that you shouldn't see whatever doctor you want? All I've seen on this thread is myself and others being ridiculed because we choose not to see a woman doctor.

So I'm not allowed to have my own preference now? how do I deserve to be ridiculed because I choose not to use a woman doctor? Please explain this slowly to me, because I'm just not getting it. It seems that if I don't hold the exact same opinions as you, you believe that I should change my opinions to match yours. All I've expressed it my own opinion...you've expressed complete intolerance for any opinion other than your own.

You sure seem to care...let's see. I said:

    You responded:

Sounds like you think I deserved to be ridiculed. So much for "No one ridiculed you, Mr. Martyr."

JohnDeereFan stated the he wouldn't go to a woman doctor. He didn't say anything about what you could use, yet you responded:

Then you go and say things like:

Sorry, bub, I haven't said anything about whether or not is is acceptable for you to go to a woman doctor. I've just stated that I personally won't do it.

Praise God that a woman doctor saved your life. As I stated earlier in this thread, I have no problem with utilizing a woman surgeon for a specific surgical procedure. I just won't use one for a "family doc" where there are sensitive situations and places that I need to talk about and show to a doctor.

As for me and my wife, neither of us are concerned about the gender of the physicians who treat us for whatever ails us.

I was at the hospital along with one of my deacons in Birmingham in the room with one of my church members who was about to have surgery---when in walked this drop dead gorgious lady:love2::love2: dressed in one of those white "Doctor" trench coats---she made small talk with me and then turned her back for a second---when she turned back around she had the biggest hypodermic needles I had ever seen in my entire life in her right hand and a bottle of something in her left-----I started looking around for the Clysdale horse that would fit the pointed end of that needle

The drop dead gorgous lady looks at me and the deacon and says---"I'm gonna ask you two men to leave the room for a second---I don't think you two will be able to stomach what I'm fixing to do!!"

Turns out this lady was the attending surgeon---gonna make a few incisions---go in and clean some arteries out

I tell ya---if I'm gonna lay myself down on a ice cold table and have someone "wack" at me with a sharp instrument---I'd really like to be looking up into the masked face of drop dead gorgous that some bearded man with bad breath!!!:thumbs:

At our family clinic, we have both male and female doctors. If we have a specifically male problem, we are sent to the male doctor. The converse is true. Otherwise, we have no problem with either.........it is medicine, not hanky-panky!

    Cheers,

    Jim

Actually, Jerome, that's a lie. I do not go to a female masseuse. In fact, I very clearly stated that the one time I got a female masseuse because my regular masseuse was out, I left.

Please don't tell lies about other people. It isn't nice. I'd point out that it's also a sin, but that doesn't seem to matter a whole lot here.

Not to get off the subject, but just to clear one thing up, no "attack" was made in post #45.
