Today I watched parts of all three games. Blowout is too simple a word to describe what Portugal did to North Korea in their 7-0 victory. Portugal scored four very beautiful goals along the way. In Spain's victory over Honduras, one of the Spanish players was given a yellow card for diving. He faked being tripped by one of the Honduran players. The referee never hesitated. He wrote him up immediately.

The collapse of the French national team is now complete for the 2010 World Cup.

At least they made a game of it with South Africa and didn't get blown out.

And congrats to South Africa for playing so gamely in this tournament even though they didn't make it to the knock out rounds.

Before we get too carried away with overly bashing the French in the World Cup we need to bear in mind that the French have won a World Cup championship, which is something we Americans have yet to accomplish.

I'm not necessarily bashing them for their World Cup performance. I'm bashing them because they're French. :wavey:

And without the French navy we would never have won the Revolutionary War.

I really don't think that France's successes or failures on the battlefield had anything to do with their poor performance in the 2010 World Cup. :)

    Anyways, just let me say...

    GO USA! BEAT ALGERIA!!!!

Am I the only one concerned about a lack of finishing. Thought we should have had at least 3. But 1 was enough

I'm totally not into this at all but I just came from church. We have an Englishwoman as a secretary and our missionaries from Spain are there. I guess they are watching the game on the computers.

You would have thought the Yankees won the world series for all the screaming that went on when the US got that goal. I was in the sanctuary and heard it from the offices. We're not a small church either!
