Would KJVO's even trust a new TR translation?

I hope I'm still on the topic, but speaking of Calvary Baptist Sem (where'd I get Central?), don't they hold the position that the NKJV is an accurate update of the T.R? I mean, I'm pretty sure they're not KJVO, right? I'm familar w/ Camp Calvary (indirectly), and I have a Pastor friend locally who took seminary courses there, who holds the same position as me regarding B.V.'s.

There is a strong argument against any MV version based on the state of the English language, especially the American brand. The Elizabethan English was a highly denotative language somewhat comparable to the Kione Greek. On the other hand, modern American English is less structured and highly connotative. For example, whereas the NIV may use the translation "moral trespass", the KJV uses the word "fornication". What is a moral trespass? In our PC society, moral trespass could mean anything from racism to a sin against the environment whereas no one has any doubt about what fornication is. Although sometimes utilizing archaic and obsolete word usage, the KJV is easily understandable and accurate for the modern reader. A dictionary is a valuable tool. The advantage of using what amounts to a dead language is similar to reasons for using Latin for scientific classification and medical terms. It is descriptive, accurate, and conveys the meaning better than modern, slangy American usage.

17th Cent English like the Koine Greek? Don't you mean like the Classical Attic Greek? (which they did NOT use), but the NT writers used the common venacular, even the KJV translators said, "But we desire that the Scipture may speak like itself...that it may be understood by the very vulgar."

 

So, even if that was so, that was then this is now...

Most of these people overlook
that the TR is multiple documents that
do not agree in about 3% of the verses.
That means that even if somebody used
the TR, they might not get what
the KJVOs want, which is the KJV.

Here is even a sadder story.
Pople are updating the KJV with
modern English, and the KJVOs won't
use it.
