You still haven't given a coherent or cohesive argument for this. I'm so sorry you feel the need to attack in order to make you more secure about yourself.

Dear God, again, I lift up carpro to you. Heal his troubled psyche. Help him to show love to the Body of Christ. Amen.

You are what you are. There is no argument here.

    Just wondering out loud...

Is judgemental or sarcastic prayer for others a sin?

I was under the impression that if you wanted to pray to God, you could do so privately. Typing your prayer into a message on a forum sure seems like you just want to demonstrate how holy you are. Hmm, maybe I was wrong? Naw...I don't think so.

No, in fact I talked about some of my own shortcomings. Most of all, I just wanted you two guys to know that I know how miserable an existence is when you're angry and cynical all the time, especially with other believers. And I'm praying for you, because I don't want you to have to live that way.

I suppose that only you would know...

On second thought - "troubled psyche" does sound just a teeny bit judgemental.

I think he had a repressed childhood, has a troubled psyche himself, so accuses others of having what he does. Makes him feel somehow superior. A better Christian. Able to tell other Christians how they should behave.

All the time offering insincere hypocritical public prayers for those who had normal upbringings. My guess is that he secretly hates Baptists and believes he is better than we are. That may even apply to all Christians, but probably not. He reserves a special dislike for Baptists because he was probably raised as one. More repression.

I believe he's probably young and has no family (children) because the US is such a heathenish un-Christian nation and he doesn't want to raise his kids in such a violent warloving nation.

He's the kind that, facing invasion by a hostile nation , would hide under his bed and wait for better men to save him...so he could keep complaining.

Bottom line. I think you may be on to something.

If I'm angry and cynical, then it must be fun to be angry and cynical. I'm certainly not miserable. Why are you so worried about how I live? Oh yeah, i forgot, your a liberal...that's what you do.

The liberal's mantra. They know better. It could not be said better. Thanx, jangles.

I'm not better than you. My sin condemns me as much as yours does you. I just don't understand why you're being so hateful to me. I've done my best to speak more kindly to you, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. So I thought I would pray and let you know I was praying, and by typing it out, I was hoping you'd realize that I hadn't been sarcastic or dishonest when I said that.

I really do feel sorry for you and the way you feel you must express yourself.

    Still praying, brother.

    1) Being a liberal doesn't make anyone anything - liberals can be nice or they can be jerks. Same thing with conservatives.

    2) I lean to the right politically. I believe abortion should be against the law. I believe government spending is out of control. Theologically, I'm solidly conservative and evangelical. I believe with all my heart in the essentials of the faith and hold the Bible in high esteem.

    3) You have no reason to be rude to me. I'm a fellow believer; I'm a child of God. We are one in the Spirit. There's no reason we have to agree on everything.

I'm extremely offended by your insults and unsolicited, cryptic remarks. As a Christian, that alone should make you want to seek reparation with me.

This has absolutely nothing to do with politics. Please stop politicizing everything I say. As a brother in Christ, I feel sorry for you folks that feel you have to catch everyone in some sort of verbal trap, wherein you prove they're a liberal because they're not as conservative as you in some things.

I'm not being liberal or conservative or the least bit political when I say that it's disturbing that a bunch of people who claim to be one in Christ can sit around and pick at everyone else and throw insults around. I don't get why everything has to be polarized and so many lines drawn in the sand over absolutely non-essential things.

    Just think about it, please.

And I'm praying for each of you that you wouldn't feel the need to be so divisive among God's children.

Unlike you, I don't care if you live your life worried about how everyone else lives their's. You go right ahead. It seems like a waste, to me.

You said it yourself. You want others to live a life that meets your approval.

This is a political forum. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

You say you are a conservative but talk like a liberal. Mostly you sound confused.

You may be an egalitarian and don't want to admit it, but it's almost the same thing as a liberal... Requiring equality of outcome regardless of input or talent, hate of even the slightest sort of nationalism. Hatred for the US, with it's standard of unequal effort and unequal talent equals unequal outcome would be a natural feeling for a confused egalitarian liberal.

Yeah. It fits pretty well. What you definitely are not is a conservative, so even if you must fool yourself for whatever reason, please don't take us as the same type of fool.

What he doesn't seem to understand is that Christians don't always need to be polite. Sometimes strong language is necessary.

In that sense, he can dish it out but can't take it.

    **Moderator warning**

The forum is being monitored and is prone to review by administration board which "dole"'s out suspensions for infractions such as strong language

Please post as if you were posting to the Lord Jesus and from Him as well

I would agree that strong language is sometimes necessary, but not when it does nothing other than belittle and demean a brother in Christ.

I can take it. I just am letting you know it's not appropriate and asking you to stop. I've never once said anything like the kinds of things you're saying. If I'm mistaken, and I have, I sincerely apologize and ask you to forgive me for treating a brother or sister that way.

I'm just shocked at some of the things several of you have said. Completely shocked that Christians can say those things to each other in good conscience.

You could give yourself credibility, and have your requests to stop not so one-sided. You seem to only admonish your political foes. Certainly you have seen something from a liberal here, they shouldn't have said ?

As far as I go, I plan on toning nothing down. I am not trying to get along with them. I want to see them and their ideas buried. America has suffered enough at their hands.

I'm not a liberal. I can't say it any differently.

They're not my allies politically. I didn't vote for them and I don't see eye to eye with them. That doesn't mean I think liberals are bad people. There are plenty of those on both sides.

But the hatred and venom that's been spewed from folks on the right has been crazy. It's not their politics I have an issue with. It's the way they are so militant and forceful about it. They responded to reasonable and generous arguments with insults and slander.

Maybe, BB should restart its "Private Forum for Members" so the general - esp Non-Christians - public will not see such exchanges.
