I am glad to inform you that God is not stuck in a box in the 1980s...

This video is already impacting people for God...
You should see the impact it is having on our youth.

This is a very powerful video, full of truth....

But now, i feel like i am butting my head against a wall...
There is no use arguing with you..

Your mind is made up, and even if Jesus said he liked it.. you would argue with him....
    Oh, BTW, Jesus likes it....

It brings people to him.. and what was it he said? If they are not against us, they are for us... or something like that...

It may not be your cup of tea... but it speaks to many in the Body of Christ... and we love it.

I give it a thumbs up

It would be nice if it included the girl worshipping Jesus at some point, and maybe weeping in a repentance.
Yet it's easy to sit back and pick apart others hard work. Nothing is going to line up with everyone's opinions.
Lifehouse is one of my favorite groups, so I am partial to the song. The kids did a good job.

Being a skit, it is what it is...

Bringing people to Christ? Why, by showing that by Jesus they can avoid eating disorders? They can avoid the bad life and embrace a good life? Isn't that a little health, wealth and prosperityish?

If the video contained mention of the atonement, to show that God is not some happy guy who gives you apples and makes butterflies, and makes you happy, but is fiercely angry with the unrepentant sinner then it may be able to bring people to Christ. But the Gospel of life enhancement has been going on for about 70 years, and all it is doing is producing a lot of false converts.(see Hells Best Kept Secret www.wayofthemaster.com)

You know what's interesting? My mother grew up in the Catholic church and knew all about hell and damnation. What finally brought her to Christ? Finding out that He actually LOVED her and wanted a relationship with her. Notice that Jesus, when speaking of the woman at the well, didn't speak of hell and damnation but what life could be like with the Living Water. I think understanding sin and it's consequences is important but I don't think that it's the only way to show someone Christ. My mother came to know Christ through His love - not His condemnation and no less than 60 people that I know of came to the Lord through her life - not to mention the 2 of her 3 children who now walk with the Lord and the countless others she touched. I know without a doubt that she's with her heavenly Father (she passed away from breast cancer 9 years ago) and that she did not have a false conversion because of how her life changed from what she was before becoming a believer and what she was like afterwards. Someone doesn't come to the Lord in a false conversion, read the entire New Testament in a week then begin an aggressive campaign to lead everyone else in the family to the Lord (and 18 of the family members did within 6 months).

Jesus addressed each person's heart when He spoke to them. Some He needed to hit hard and others needed a soft touch. Not everyone needs to hear right off that they're a no good, worthless, less than scum sinner to come to Christ. Some need to hear that there IS hope - not that our lives will be wonderful but that God has given His Son for us so that we can have a relationship with Him. That's the conversion - not that we'll have a wonderful life. And that's just what that video shows - changed lives.

Watch it closely... it is there...
I didn't see it until I put it on the big screen at church...
When "Jesus" steps in, and is holding back the evil.. if you look closely, the girl is crying, She holds out her arms while on her knees nd looks at her arms where she cut them... and she has a look of disgust on her face, then she throws out her arms and looks toward heaven, and then she pulls her hands in and places them over her heart.... If you look close enough, on a screen big enough, her lips are moving... like she is praying... (Sorry, she does not bow her head, but looks toward Heaven... I know this will be a point of contention)

Then right before, "Jesus" throws the evil ones back, she bows her hands and stretches out her hands palms up.. and read her lips, she cries, "Save me" then drops limp to her knees.. at that very moment Jesus throws back the evil, and comes to her....

If you can, put it on a big screen... there are many more details you will see... especially if you watch it over and over and over again, while working with your youth to perform it, and to get the moves right....

That's right, folks. Indoctrinate you with the puppeteer gospel by watching it over and over again.

    Let the brainwashing begin.

I've sat under a lot of preaching that let me know, beyond doubt that I was a low down dirty scum, lower than a snake's belly and headed to hell. And, deservedly so. I couldn't have agreed more. Yet, that's where I was left, under the snakes' belly, with the flames of hell licking at my toes. That's the problem with most hell fire and brim stone preaching. It's incomplete and devoid of grace. Preach hell fire and brimstone but don't forget grace. This skit illustrates God's love and grace towards us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Actually, people better read their Bibles if they are deceived into believing that vidow was gospel.

You keep saying that, but it has been pointed out to you already that the drama is NOT Gospel. It is dealing with a believer (teenager) and how the things of the world crowd our Christ until we fall to our knees in desperation. You have been told this yet again. If you keep stating it's the "Gospel", you are then a liar.

tim said it was gospel here

JDale said it was gospel here

queenbee said it was the gospel here

dan e said it was the gospel here

but, it is a gospel, webdog... a false gospel. Paul referred to it as 'another gospel'

You still want to say no one says it is the gospel?

If by Gospel you mean "good news", it is. A believer that comes back to the Lord after falling away is great news! It is not a lost person coming to Christ...what is commonly referred to as "The Gospel".

Paul wouldn't refer to this as anything but "praise God"!

Oh, that's nice to know. It would be much clearer in person, as you said.
Some days my eyes are especially weak, yet almost shed a tear watching it the first time.
Checked to ensure my wife wasn't behind me, that would be embarrassing

Interpretive dance never did do much for me, probably because I'm too dumb to understand the interpretation. It also could be my cultural upbringing, or my advanced age, or that I'm just out of touch with such deep symbolism.

Maybe if I were 50 years younger I would relate to it. Wait, I was 50 years younger once, and I didn't relate to it then either.

Lest you think I'm culturally deprived, I headed a performing arts organization for several years, and booked everything from ballet to bebop. If I had booked to my own tastes, we'd have been out of business after the first year.

Just watched it a 2nd time.

It actually works wonderfully as a gospel presentaion, as well as a picture of Christ rescueing us from our "prodigal" experiences AFTER being born again.

Just excellant. How any born again person could be against this wonderful presentation is beyond me.
