I quite disagree. If that were the truth, then Christians all over the world would have to worship in only one way if their focus is on our Lord.

The only way it can be true is if you accuse those who do not worship in the "prescribed style" (whatever you determine that to be) of worshiping a false God.

Joh 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

So why is the membership of SB declining??

Joh 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

I believe in confessing your sins one to another,

but do you need a "convention" to do it?

There are Christians in places where it is dangerous if not fatal to be a Christian and music is certainly not their focus.

That is the attitude of a lot of so-called churches now. The old folks are unnecessary; unless they have money of course!

Jesus Christ said in John 4:23: But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father seeketh such to worship Him.

Now rock music may be "spirited" but it is not spiritual. The music, and all its variants, was developed to arouse sensual emotions. Furthermore, women swishing their hips is certainly not spiritual. There is no truth in much of what the present culture calls worship.

The Apostle Paul gives an example of proper worship in Acts 14:26-33. Paul says that God is not the author of confusion. Confusion aptly describes what some call worship.

I was on a "Christian" forum some years back when the subject of proper music came up Some advocated the use of "death metal" which fortunately I knew nothing about.

That's true. What is the manner of Christian worship in oppressed societies?

One's manner (or style) of worship has everything to do with how he views God's nature and the work of Redemption.

For some it is in their own home. True worship comes out of service to God. One of the words translated worship is the same word from which serve comes from.

How does that fit in with Mt. 28:19, 20?

There has been a misunderstanding. I meant to post that my church has a praise band and that no one needs "cotton balls." We make sure we keep the volume down so that all generations can participate. I too have very sensitive hearing and don't like loud music no matter it's style.

As to my comment to OldRegular. It was meant as a joke and not to be disrepectful to seniors.

Let me rephrase the question: What is the style of Christian worship in oppressed societies?

I would say, "Scripture, please?" but the (non-)answer is predictable...

Style of worship has nothing to with making disciples. Every country and every part of the U.S. has different styles of worship.
