I went for "other" because there wasn't a choice for land line plus mobile phone.

About 5 years ago, I bought on Ebay a new old stock, still in the box, black rotary dial phone, one of those square shaped ones typical of the 1960's. It was made by ITT, apparently for the phone company and had a 1991 manufacturing date on it (I wouldn't have thought anyone was still making rotary dial phones in 1991.)

It's not my main land line phone but it is hooked up and I do use it.

I suppose it's my way of setting myself apart from the 'you can't live without a cell phone' crowd.

David, a 'cell phone' is what we Americans call a 'mobile phone'.

How about two land lines plus four cell phones?

I got a cell phone when I was going through my divorce back in 03'. Now I keep it as I have remarried and with 2 step kids ages 9 and 10, I find myself needing to be more available.
After the car accident I was in last week though I definately find it a more important part of my life. :)

I picked other because although I do have both a landline and a cell phone, I only use the cell phone.

My landline was part of the package deal with Comcast so I have it, but never use it. The deal with Phone/Internet/Cable was cheaper than getting just the Internet/Cable through them.

As do I, one is for internet service and the other for all other calls at home or on the road. Actually I have 3. The other is used for business as a walkie talkie.

I have a cell phone only for emergencies. A land line (not cordless) because when the electricity fails, that's the only one that'll work.

    love,

We have cell and land line. The church got my husband and I cell phone 2 years ago which we didn't even want. We where sure it was a waste of money and we didn't want the church to do that for us. After having the phone for 2 plus years we both have wondered how we made it without it. It has turned out to come in handy many time and we are very thankful for it.

Landline is the main line. There is cell service as part of my Onstar. Thing is, you have to actually be in the car to use it. Okay, I suppose I am in the car at least 75% of the time, but still.....

My son has a "Go phone" cause he just thought he had to have one. He paid for it himself, so I can't really complain.

I'm gonna say though, if I'm shopping in Walmart, they ain't no one needs to calling to chat! If there's an emergency Walmart will page me!

I just don't consider it necessary to be available 24 hours a day. If someone wants to talk to me, I'll be home eventually otherwise send me a letter!

    I have both.......

When I got a cell phone several years ago, it was originally for emergencies only ($20 for 100 minutes a month). But gradually, as prices for cell phone time came down, I used it more and more. Now I have a plan with unlimited time...
