I enjoy good choir music but it seems that in recent years the accompanament seem to dominate the choir or overpower it. Any reccomendations other then The Morman Tabernacle Choir (although they have a large orchestra you can't pick out any instrument)? There are several Russian Choirs on the internet but they sing mostly secular music.

I know what you mean...there's nothing like using the human voice as the primary instrument of praise! (But I do like instrumental as well). Look for "The Baylor Choir." I recommend them highly, as well as the Southwest Baptist University Ensemble.

I checked this out. Good stuff -- see the following links for some of my favorites that I found.

I was (before I retired) very familiar with the work done by Majesty Music.

It is leveled for various abilities, and without question is doctrinally Baptist.

It is also fundamentally sound in musicality.

What is really neat is that if the assembly uses AWANA, with "patch the pirate" music, too, the children will be thrilled to hear the adults sing some of "their songs."

I have recommended the music to many churches and have never had a negative response from the choir masters.

I get choral music from Hope Publishing. I love that they send CD's with their sample music packs and I save those and listen to them time and again when I need a choral music fix.
