    Detroit city councilwoman Monica Conyers has resigned from office after admitting she took cash bribes from a Houston-based company in exchange for her vote on a lucrative city contract.

    Conyers, the wife of powerful Democratic congressman John Conyers, submitted her letter of resignation to the city clerk's office Monday. Her resignation takes effect July 6.

    This most likely will be farther reaching.

    I am guessing that former mayor Kilpatrick will be returning from Texas to answer questions concerning his part in the scandal.

    There are also hints that Congressman Conyers will have some questions to answer on a related matter.

    Democrats all.
