Bill Clinton did what perhaps no one else could have done, freed the imprisoned journalists.

North Korea owed Clinton a favor after they abused the nuclear technology he provided to them during his administration.

The face-saving move by the Koreans toward Clinton clearly demonstrated that they valued the services he provided to their country.

The U.S. under Clinton and Gore bankrolled the North Korean nuclear program.

The journalists release showed us that they appreciated it.

IMO it's quite belittling to Clinton;

I'd be interested to hear Rippon's take on this matter, I think he's in S. Korea.

No good deed goes uncriticized.

Is that off topic or is it off topic simply to respond? I don't know But I do know that the good deed of Bush freeing the Iraqi people from an evil dictator did not go uncriticized.

I am glad they are free regardless of who went over there. There now I am back on topic. I think.

Not even comparable by an extreme stretch. The Iraqis didn't ask us in, and we didn't cause hundreds of thousands of North Korean deaths to liberate these journalists.

And your facts are incorrect yet again.

But I am glad the journalists are free.

IT was reported they were going to be release anyway. They were being held for bargaining purposes, and to take pressure off their nuclear program. Ironic the one that turned a blind eye to North Korea has the best relationship with them. Coincidence?

I don't care if Bill Clinton had a hand in it or not. I don't even care if it was a phone call from George Bush that made the difference; I'm just glad these journalist are being released.

As much of a lying, cheating piece of you know what that I consider Bill Clinton to be, I am (((THRILLED))) and (((EXCTATIC))) that these 2 victims of the pure stupidity of the North Korean leader are now (((FREE)))!!!

Our prayers have been answered...thank you Father God...and these 2 women are now being reunited with their loved ones.

Praise God!

And thank you Bill Clinton.

I don't care who it was, and I think this is one of those times when political party makes no difference, I'm just glad their coming home.

The american government had no choice but go begging to "the great leader" the "one who knows everything" since it was probally the CIA that convinced these two young "stupid" girls to take a "vacation" along the North Korean border. How stupid was this? After the girls families were going to blow this whole CIA mission gone wrong..........they had no choice.......but to go begging. Kim Il was laughing all the way to the Macau bank on this one.

Actually, they are employed by Al Gore's's Television channel.

But don't let facts change yer mind. Your hate for America is almost comical.

Actually, Shinninglight, Kim Jong-"Very"-Il is known as the "Dear Leader".

Kudos to Slick Willie for pulling this one off. Maybe he gave the Dear Leader a set of DVDs he didn't already own?

Robert and I agree on something.

In other news, Las Vegas just froze over.

(Hey, I couldn't say the other location, and Vegas is quite close...)

That's true. Some will refuse to acknowlege Clinton's effort in the current situation based on their personal disdain for him. That's a simple prejudice.

There's nothing wrong with noting a past POTUS's transgressions. But when one ignores that POTUS's accomplishments in favor of his transgressions, that person loses objectivity. Likewise, if a person completely overlooks a POTUS's transgressions, it is just as wrong as overlooking his accomplishments.

It is not necessary to overlook Clinton's past transgressions to recognize his current accomplishment. Nixon is another example.
