I use to like getting up to listen to the sermon before going to church. After James Kennedy passed away it hasn't been on TV. :tear:

Despite Dr Kennedy spending too much time on politics and too little time on scripture in his later years, I always loved the Coral Ridge Hour, and I hope to worship at Coral Ridge the next time I vacation in Florida (which might not happen, because I'm also supposed to visit Community Presbyterian Church in Celebration, First Baptist in Orlando, and Calvary Chapel Orlando. Anyhoo, that's off topic....

The Coral Ridge Hour is now a half hour, but unfortunately it has been cancelled, and no new episodes are being produced. When it completes its current run, its airings will cease. I don't think that anyone will preach the way Dr Kennedy did. I met him once when he was here visiting Orange County (CA). I was surprised that he was a lot shorter than I thought he was. I still have his book "Beginning again" which is a recommended read, imo.

Honestly, Its a shame. I wonder if his ministry will continue on. It seems he didn't lay enough of a good foundation for it. The Coral Ridge Hour was great and he said some relevant things.

His other ministries such as The Center for Reclaiming America for Christ and Evangelism Explosion also folded after his death.

Coral Ridge Pres remains solid, and is currently under the leadership of Tullian Tchividjian, a Presbyterian minister who is the grandson of Billy Graham. CRPC remains classic Presbyterian and maintains its adherence to Reformed Theology.

I was on the Coral Ridge hour back in the early 90s. I did not actually meet Dr. Kennedy, but a TV crew came up to VA and filmed me in order to tell my testimony. They showed this segment on air after Dr. Kennedy did a sermon.

I think he's referring to my earlier comment that The Center for Reclaiming America for Christ and Evangelism Explosion also folded after Kennedy's death. I was technically incorrect. The Center for Reclaiming America for Christ closed. However, EE ended up reorganizing and restructuring. Sorry for the confusion.

Coral Ridge Pres Church is going strong. They went through the normal pangs that accompany a senior pastor transition, but nothing unusual or unpredictable. There's been some sour grapes from some of Kennedy's family members and friends that have made the local news, but it's truly little more than sour grapes.
