Good idea. The opening post was deceptive and should never have been allowed in the first place.

I'll go ahead and get this in before the lock. I have a feeling I know how it's going to go but whatever. The comments about Islam that everybody takes as some sort of allegiance to Obama's "true" religion are missing the big picture. His comments are very calculated. I don't think it is any coincidence that the timing of his comments goes along with his attempts to sway congress into a more aggressive approach with ISIS. Any success we had previously in Iraq can be attributed to the cooperation of Iraqi and Afghan local nationals that provided their services as interpreters, informants, intelligence gatherers and at the very lest tipsters. Anticipating any type of reentry into these old conflicts will once again mean that we need to reestablish old contacts and convince them that our side is the right side. Having the President of the United States declare war on Islam in totality is not going to do us any favors in that regard. I don't think people understand how much help we need in these countries from native Islamic residents. If we are going to win another conflict we absolutely CAN NOT make ourselves an enemy of their most cherished beliefs. That would be the very definition of self defeating behavior. I don't agree with Obama on just about every domestic decision he has made in the White House but I think he is being advised well by his Chiefs of Staff with respect to the Middle East.

I don't man up to people I don't know and who choose to judge. If an apology is needed, it goes to God who is my accuser and Savior. You are another blowhard big mouth. Demanding things does not mean I will do as you expect. Plus, I never bow down to those whom I don't know. And you sir, I don't know and am sure I don't desire to know. So go and make your demands, stomp your feet and call me whatever you want. It is no sweat off my back. :flower:

Precisely. The fact is that we need (what many on this board would call) "radical Islamists" to help us fight ISIS. There are so many factions of radical Islamists that if Obama were to use that phrase it would confuse some of the sects over there are are somewhat sympathetic to us, or at least hate ISIS.

Honestly, I don't care if he calls them "Larry", just so that we defeat them.

Yes, and they already believe we're over there to kill them and replace their governments and religions with Western ideals. It's not helpful to call them all terrorists at every opportunity.

How soon people forget that George W. Bush treaded carefully when using perjorative terms for Muslims. He didn't invoke "Islamic terrorists" either, or if he did it was early on and soon stopped doing it.

It's also worth pointing that in an interview on the Charlie Rose show, the Jordanian Foreign Affairs minister was commenting on the recent summit that his main concern with ISIS was the fact that they were effectively "hijacking" his religion and the American responses are letting them getting away with it with attempts to generalize Islam as a religion of terrorists. President Obama has consistently avoided doing this with his remarks ever since he took office and suffered consistent criticism with his selective wording on ISIS.

Hey, I think we might have just got this thread back on topic.

So you're just going to ignore James 5:16 and Matt. 5:23-24? I guess we know who doesn't read their Bible here. tisk tisk. I don't expect you to apologize...after all the corrupt remain stubborn (Judges 2:19).

This is coming pretty close to mocking the power of Christ.
