I am sorry that I do not have the link to share, but I am using my Nook and can't cut and paste.

On Fox News tonight, they reported hos Obama was speaking about his concerns with the manner in which Fox News Reports the news! He feels they have created a divide between the WH and citizens. This issue came up during a speech at an "anti-poverty" event. Stating that the way Fox compares the poor to "sponges" who don't want to work, and would rather collect welfare and food stamps!

Does this swipe at Fox News sound like a call to censor the news media? Because it sure sounds like he'd like to clamp down on media free speech, to me?

Can we say "socialism" is being suggested when it comes to conservative reporting of the news?

IF THIS DOESN'T SCARE YOU, WHAT WOULD IT TAKE TO RILE UP YOUR FREE SPEECH CONCERNS .... :tonofbricks:

Let's hear what you think he is quietly suggesting! :flower:

He's saying the same thing that every non-FOX News listener says. There's no difference in what he's saying about FOX News and what "conservatives say about the other news outlets.

I understand that you need Obama to be the nexus of all things wrong in these here United States. But shoo fly.

When Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mike Gallagher, Hugh Hewitt, Bill Bennett, Mike Levin, Glenn Beck, (take your pick of right wing talkers) say, "the left controls the mainstream media" is that a call to clamp down on free speech?

If not, then why is it a call for curtailing free speech when Obama says something similar?

He should have first held up a caricature of Muhammad and invoked Pam Gellar. Then the political conservatives wouldn't know what to say.

I can't remember Bush ever questioning CNN, MSNBC, NBC, NPR, ABC or CBS for their liberal mudslinging spin during his eight years in office. In fact his dad never threw a tantrum or held a political pity party when the liberal leaning "haters" took him to the proverbial mat for his "watch my lips" comment.

This can only mean that Obama is a paranoid, immature, chip on the shoulder racist pig. We needed an adult in the office of POTUS, and we got a "man-child" and his anti-American wife. Well Americans voted for change, and they have never been more ready for change than they are after six years of Obama poofing his lips in self pity.

CNN, MSNBC, NBC, NPR, ABC or CBS didn't devote their every waking moments trying to undermine everything Bush said. They also didn't use their talk show shills to put out the talking point that Bush has been more racially divisive than any other President.

Or it might just mean that you're towing the party line and trying to make a mountain out of nothing because it suits the GOP narrative with this President.

I knew it wouldn't take long for this to come up with you.

Actually, it means Obama is a narcissist and can't stand criticism.

He actually does hold up a caricature of Muhammad by presenting Islam as a religion of peace.

And in regards to the OP, how about the other networks? There must be something he has said about them...somewhere.

    God bless.

Not at first. Not while Bush was kicking Terrorism in the hinder parts.

At that time this country was probably more united than at any other single time in history. It was the first foreign terrorist act on America, and as Americans we were united with a singular view against a common enemy.

Church attendance was at a record level.

Fear of Terrorism was coupled with a renewed fear of God, and an awakening of the absence of God in the lives of many.

This happened in the lives of Israel as well, when they were over-run and taken captive. And like Israel, they settled into their captivity and some of them even suffered Stockholm Syndrome, which is the same problem many professing Christians and Americans suffer.

And no wonder, when our own President is a spokesman and advocate for Terrorism, again, holding up a caricature of Muhammad, as though Muhammad himself was not a terrorist advocating a god he created himself, that he might gain power over not only others, but...the entire world.

Well, have to give him credit. If your going to set your goals, might as well set them high.

    God bless.

The Washington Post noted last month:

In the Committee to Protect Journalists report, former Washington Post executive editor Leonard Downie Jr. summarized the administration’s efforts to control information as “the most aggressive I’ve seen since the Nixon administration.” Downie was one of the editors involved in The Post’s coverage of Nixon’s Watergate crimes.

Veteran New York Times reporter James Risen said:

[The Obama administration is] the greatest enemy of press freedom that we have encountered in at least a generation.

[The administration wants to] narrow the field of national security reporting to create a path for accepted reporting.

[Anyone journalist who exceeds those parameters] will be punished.

New York Times Executive Editor Jill Abramson agrees:

    < snip >

But it’s not just recent history … Several veteran reporters say this is the worst administration ever.

For example, long-time CNN (and now MSNBC) political reporter Bob Franken said:

Every administration tries to manipulate the press. But this is the most hostile to the media that has been in United States history.

Likewise, USA Today’s Susan Page said:

This administration has been more restrictive and more challenging to the press, more dangerous to the press, really, than any administration in American history.

After the government’s spying on the Associated Press made it clear to everyone that the government is trying to put a chill journalism, the senior national-security correspondent for Newsweek tweeted:

Serious idea. Instead of calling it Obama’s war on whistleblowers, let’s just call it what it is: Obama’s war on journalism.

Likewise, Washington Post writer Dan Milbank wrote:

Good post. Obama hates freedom of the press. Period. FOX News is just his favorite target.

I see it as more of a love/hate relationship.

Obama hates having the truth about him and his administration being reported.

But he loves how quick the media jumps on the bandwagon to take part in his "allege and demonize" and "race baiting" campaigns.

Even Fox viewers are eager to jump on the bandwagon to take part in his "allege and demonize" campaigns.

They're not so eager to provide evidence to support those allegations however, but that's another topic.
