    Some are. Some are not.

Science (the data) shows that the climate is warming. Science also shows this happened before - Medieval Climate Optimum (Medieval Warm Period lasted about 300 years). Also (I'll add for Thanksgiving) the poem "Over the River and Through the Wood" was written in the early 19th Century (during the "Little Ice Age").

The question is not about Climate change. The question is whether or not it is caused by men (and if it can or should be influenced by human action).

Are those who claim human action is causing this climate change also "anti-science" for their superstitious conclusions of the scientific data?

What is done to curb climate control; also reduces air pollution. Ever been to LA on a bad say? I can remember flying in there and seeing a brown cloud over the city. So if you want to leave your children and grandchildren poor quality ait then vote against doing anything. That increases the profits of the rich and hurts all of us..

The idea that we can curb these climate changes....or better yet that we should curb these changes is not scientific.

Historically these changes occur. What if we discover a way to reverse global warming only to discover we have created disaster when a cooling age arrives?

It was warm, then cold, and now warm again. Maybe the data is not showing the results of human endeavors but nature itself.

That's not the question. Do you want to reduce air pollution or not?

Of course. (I thought we were talking about global warming).

But it is also a trade off. Things like solar panels help make clean energy. But their production hurts. Things like wind power helps. But same issue. Nuclear power is clean...unless something bad happens. Most energy is produced by fossil fuel today.

Electric cars are cool. But they only exist today because of government subsidies.

So yes. If I had my choice to breathe clean air or dirty air, I'd choose clean air.

Off topic - but I noticed last week that wood chips cause cancer in California.

Donald Trump has once again confused the weather with climate change after suggesting chilly weather headed towards the US means global warming is not real.

“Brutal and Extended Cold Blast could shatter ALL RECORDS - Whatever happened to Global Warming?” Mr Trump tweeted on Wednesday evening.

We've certainly had heatwaves & cold waves in recent centuries but a striking feature of present global warming is the melting of Arctic & Antarctic ice. The NW Passage ice has been a massive block to shipping for centuries, but now you can enjoy a luxury cruise through it.

Stan Rogers explains all in this powerful song.

I'm standing outside the movies as I type, wearing a t-shirt.

President Trump is right. It is chilly.

Renewable energy is juist about the same price as coal or oil. We have a good intermediate steep with LNG. T Bone Pickens, a long time oil person. suggested that we convert all long haul trunks to LNG with service stations on the interstates. Why do you suppose solar panels are in short supply? They are mostly produced by China and Trump's tariffs have had a disastrous impact on that.

No. It is not. That is one of the "fact-check" issues that I spoke of on another thread (lies Democrats and Republicans believe as true).

EPA data shows that ambient levels of ALL criteria air pollutants have declined significantly since the 1980's. Combined emissions of hazardous air pollutants have declined approximately 50% since the 1990;s. The study showed that 44% of Democrats polled knew this fact (69% Republicans, 42% third-party voters).

Without government subsidies the least expensive method for generating electricity is natural gas power plants. Data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration shows natural gas is considerably less expensive than wind, and win is considerably less expensive than solar. (23% of Democrat voters answered this correctly, 53& of Republicans, and 35% of third-party voters).

Have you references for the cited assertions?

The reasons for climate change are not well understood, but let's get some "political" perspective.

Modern scientists hold to a billions of years old earth. According to this, there have been huge ice ages, and cyclical periods of glacials and interglacials within. Currently we are in the warming period of a major ice age and apparently within a warming period of a G-I cycle, but appear to have been holding remarkably (miraculously?) steady over the past 12,000 years or so. As part of all this, plate tectonics, including volcanoes, play an enormous part, as have various life forms, and have done so for much longer than man has been around; but these in turn are affected by the Sun's brightness and heat and Earth's orbital eccentricity, axial angle and rotational wobble.

How much mankind is able to affect all of this (OK, on the count of three, everyone on this side, JUMP!) has hardly been established scientifically, but I am certain the USA is not the worst culprit.

So excuse me if I reject the notion that being taxed by the trillions while importing Chinese junk for our landfills as they further pollute the earth in general is a great approach to addressing climate change. It is definitely not good politically, as China's communism is blatantly anti-Christian and anti-American. I suggest instead that we impose our standards of treatment of workers and citizens on them, as well as our standards of production quality and environmental protection. Just allowing their Christians to share the Gospel unfettered could produce massive positive change for them and the world. How about it?

Trump was not giving a science report but a political quip, as you know. It has been getting warmer the last 4,000 years since the Ice Age. One of the problems here in the Americas is that the savages did not keep good meteorological records so out knowledge is limited. Another problem is that the Chinese and the Indians are big polluters and show no signs of any willingness to stop their industrial practices. So the solution may be to go to war to force them to be clean in China . This is a job for the EU.

The climate change myth is a political agenda to transfer wealth and to impose global restrictions. They can tick it up their nose.

England, France, and Germany do not need US money to do this job. The EU has big bucks and the Germans are filthy rich. The EU can threaten China and India and threaten to reimpose colonialism if they don't do what the EU says. I am sure that that will work.

Oh, it will take every penny we have and will not make any difference but will make Brussels happy? If Soros grows richer along with all the other globalists and the working class lose their jobs in the USA, then can we assume that global warming, er, climate change is under control? As for the UK, they have been down and out so long it looks like up to them. They talk bad about Trump and adore the Mayor of London, but police-state May turns out to be so globalist that she can't get out of the EU and is not decent enough to resign. Then there is Jeremy Corbyn, who makes a career out of anti-Semitism with the blessing of the like-minded Labour Party. They left is on the march to install socialism and communism and promote jihad but climate change is the craziest issue they have because it is not based on any sort of fact and the worst offenders are the developing world.

To extend your comment, '...as he performs masterfully on the guitar.' Just in case you cannot fathom the sarcasm, there is as much explanation in his song as there is guitar playing, though by the reckoning of some, the image of him playing would count.:Rolleyes

BTW, how interesting that in this PC age you get away with referring to indigenous folk as "savage," or posting songs that do.
