“When the left and members of the media attempt to otherize a conservative Catholic woman this way, it only affirms what Trump has been selling to his supporters for four years: that Democrats are out to get them, that feminism only defends “some” women, that he is the only protector of American Christianity, and that the media is fake news. In an election year where turnout could be consequential down to the tens of voters, that could help mobilize enough of the evangelicals, suburban women and Republicans who’d been drifting away from Trump right back into his arms.

It’s also just gross. That in 2020 Catholics are still fair game for this kind of bigotry is shameful. We have to be better than this — but then, these days that often seems like too much to ask.”

What do they mean when they say that she is an extremist Catholic?

Sad what has happened to the party of JFK and RFK, but hopefully the religious bigotry of the left will get its just rewards in November.

The Dems ran the South from Jackson until this century. They ran the Congress from 1932 until now. Since 1932, they had FDR, Truman, JFK, LBJ, Carter, Clinton, & Obama--a total of 44 years, long years. The heyday of the GOP was from 1860 until 1932.

I think mainly they're worried she believes all life is valuable. Not acceptable.

Which is good. She also pro-lockdown. I'm leaning toward the Lagoa camp.

Lagoa was initially appointed by Jeb Bush in Florida. I wonder how close she is to the Bush family.

Not close at all. She is a Cuban communist dissident.

I am quite aware of that. She is still a communist dissident. That would pull her away from the Bush wing and is attributable to her Cuban ID. Cubans are strongly pro-Trump.

How can she be a Cuban communist dissident without living in Cuba and dissenting? You are just plum wrong to use that description, cmg. Just admit your mistake and we’ll forget the matter.

Wrong. They broke somewhat for Obama but they disliked his opening of Cuba without any compensation for their property in Cuba. Cuba was almost as wealthy as the USA before Castro. Also, they and others from Latin America dislike the riots. They like the Trump military buildup and the overturning of the Democrat Latin American policy. They dislike that the Democrats allowed a Russian buildup in Cuba as well as the activities there of Iran, China, and North Korea.

The reason Cuban refugees are Republicans is that they are angry at JFK for doublecrossing them during the Bay of Pigs during which time Kennedy raped a virgin girl in the White House.

I definitely caught that shout out. Makes you wonder. Bushes have gone full apostate. But Jeb did give her her first shot.
