I’ve been reading 2 Timothy, where Paul tells us that anyone who hopes to follow Jesus cannot entangle himself in the affairs of the world (he says that no soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of every day life, so that he may please the One who enlisted him as a solider).

But when it comes to politics it seems that Christians run to hit the campaign trail. Neither political party holds a platform that proclaims Jesus as Savior and Lord. Neither political party has as its primary objective the gospel of Christ. Politics is simply not about Jesus. Politics is about power and influence. Politics is an integral part of the world system (an entanglement we are told to avoid).

Am I the only one that is starting to think that there are many people who claim to love and follow Jesus but place more emphasis on the Constitution than the Sermon on the Mount in their daily lives?

Do you not see though that One Party holds to babies being freely murdered, alternate lifestyles running amok, and basically denying any of the laws of the Lord then?

I see a lot when it comes to words, but to be fair there have been times when the GOP held all of the cards....and abortion remains to this day.

I do not see either party as holding a platform that declares Christ as Lord.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to make the world a better place or for wanting to secure the lives of our children. But I have to ask, how much of that $1.57 billion raised by the GOP for the 2020 election was spent specifically towards reaching others with the gospel message? What part of the GOP platform proclaims Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior?

Paul specifically tells us (tells us outright) not to get entangled in the affairs of this world. In fact, Paul says we are citizens of another place and representatives of His Kingdom.

What has the GOP accomplished for which God was given the praise and the glory?

Our citizenship is not of this earth, but should we not have installed those who at least will try to stop some of the Infanticide going on now?

Nope. Politics is part of occupying until He returns. This nation went to hell because The Church withdrew from politics. When we were a Godly nation, The Church dominated politics. Church withdrew and secularism filled the vacuum.

They would have had no use for most of the current politicians we now have, on both sides of the aisles!

Do you believe that Mormons, who have outstanding moral convictions, are Christian?

My point is having good morals foes not mean "Christian".

Does the platform to which you belong proclaim Christ as Savior?

Are you yoked with a platform that does not acknowledge Christ as Savior (are you entangled with the World)?

We must remember that the sovereign unit in the USA government is "we the people." All the politicians are OUR employees subject to our decisions.

Since every one of us shares in being the sovereign of this company, every citizen of the USA has a God granted responsibility to do our part in ruling the United States. When we are called up yonder and the crowns are handed out, one of the crowns may very well be for doing our part in making sure our government does the will of God.

To say it is not our responsibility to at least stay informed and vote is dishonoring our Christian forefathers and our God Who lead them to create our government so that we had the right to do our part.

I do not support abortion l. I am not sure what gave you the idea I would.

I am talking about entangled ourselves with this world, with politics, with the principles and powers of this age.

Does the platform towards which you identify (you indicate a moral platform) proclaim that Christ is Savior? It is a very simple question.

Who says we yoke or entangle ourselves with the World for a common good? Certainly not Jesus. Or Paul (Paul actually says the opposite).

The Church should oppose abortion, slavery, and racism.

What I am talking about is becoming entangled and identifying with the powers of this World.

My opinion is that Paul and Christ were correct. Christians should not get entangled with the World even in pursuit of a good end. We are called to be faithful and obedient, trusting God.

Does the party you have chosen to identify with proclaim Chrust as Savior as its platform? Does it give God the glory for tge things it accomplishes, or does it use those accomplishments to promote itself?

With his lips. I pray for the President's salvation, since his life speaks of a worldly man like too many I know. Faith always changes us to be more like Christ. The Charismatic and women preachers he has as spiritual advisors scare me. They will do him harm.
