Which edition of the Kjv would be the perfect translation then? Would have to be just the 1611 by the KJVO logic!

Because most people won't be able to understand the language of the 1611 KJV

Not my preferred version, but much better to read say the Niv and have understanding then read the 1611 and not know what it means!

I had to read The Canterbury Tales with the Middle English spelling and vocabulary in my British Masterpieces class.

    Now there was a challenge.

Nothing is wrong with it. It's just that so many who claim the 1611 are probably not reading it. It's readable, but difficult in certain passages to me.

I like a clear, clear read.

I have no prob with the AV 1611's English, but the Gothic print is hard for me to read. My Hendrickson repro copy is in Roman font, but otherwise word-for-word.

that's why God caused MVs to be made, same as He did the AV 1611 for the British of that time who read everything else in much the came English and font.

The Lord desires that His word get out and be read and applied to as many as can read!So why would he not want His word clear, using modern vocabulary and phrasing?

    Oh look!
    Yet another "let-me-soothe-my-guilty-conscience-by-educating-the-KJVO-neanderthals-about-the-mistakes-in-their-Bible" thread.
No power at all in that old black book, nope, none at all.

The Roman type 1611 edition reprints may not be word-for-word the same as the original Gothic type 1611 edition.

As many as 40 unintentional type setting errors in the Gothic type original 1611 edition may be unintentionally corrected in the Roman font reprints.

Do you attempt to put words in the mouths of others that they do not say?

It is a fact that there are actual mistakes (errors) in the 1611 edition of the KJV and in other editions of the KJV regardless of whether you seek to deny that truth. Why would someone have a guilty conscience from stating the truth?

    Exactly!

First come the Angles, Saxons, and Judes to Brittain and English is born - though no one today would recognize it. Then comes the Normans with the French influence and English changes, ergo translations have to change.

Then the printing press comes and English is still evolving calling for English translations. All sorts of really good translations are made available in the early modern English period. One being the Geneva which was the common man's Bible.

The comes the King James in 1611 which underwent revisions as all good translations do.

English STILL is changing and much older documents found hence the call for careful and studious translations.

I CAN read a 1611 - even a Geneva and small portions even of a Wycliffe. But I prefer a clear reading of the Bible.

Also - comparisons should be made.

    The Bible should be STUDIED.
