    Merry Christmas all,
The invasion here just left. The house needs to be cleaned again but a nap is in order first.

Hey everyone! I hope that you all had a blessed and wonderful Christmas. I came down with a bad cold on Christmas Eve but have been plugging through with it. It's more of a chest cold than a head cold so I've been coughing and I think I need to start using my inhaler. Hey Sue - did I get this from you??? ;)

We had a great Christmas Eve at church - all afternoon and evening. Came home, wrapped the rest of the gifts, made breakfast and went off to bed. We woke up early thanks to the kids and opened gifts. Everyone was happy with what they got but the best was Lauren (my oldest) getting a digital SLR camera!! She was so shocked that she was shaking and crying. :) I'm glad we were able to get that for her.

My dad came over for brunch and we had a nice visit then he left and I went to take care of the horses for my friend so she could enjoy Christmas with her family. Came home, made dinner then crashed on the couch. I had a very low grade fever last night (99.7) but it was enough for me to feel icky.

So now today, we're traveling to my in-laws. It will take us about an hour and a half to get there and we'll have lunch with them then we'll hit the outlet stores on the way home. LOL The outlets are about an hour away - too far to go to normally but we pass them when we go to ILs so we NEED to hit them. I want to get bread at the Pepperidge Farm store (we go through SO much bread and all of the PF thrift stores closed down around here), and I want to hit up Oshkosh to see if I can find some dresses for Joanna. Apparently 5 year olds need to dress trashy according to most manufacturers OR short sleeves is normal for 30 degree temps! OY!! I found a few dresses last year so I want to see what I can get this year.

So, have a wonderful day all! I left breakfast sandwiches in the fridge - just heat them up in the microwave. Enjoy!

    Good Morning Everybody,

It is 20 degrees with light snow here. It got up to 46 yesterday and we lost most of the old snow, so we wake up this morning and guess what??

Hoping everybody had a blessed Christmas. We always celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve, so the Gkids can go to their other grandparents on Christmas Day.

We've all been busy packing [commonly called cussin' & discussin.] It's not easy merging two homes into one.

My break is over and I've got to get back to packing before Brenda decides to put me in a box.

    Good morning all!

Hope you are feeling better, Ann, and that you, FoG, get the boxes and discussions all in order!

Strange experience yesterday. It snowed most the night before and almost all day yesterday and NONE piled up on the ground. It seems we were EXACTLY at snow level! It was weird to see it snow all day and so little on the ground or plants. It's all gone this morning. Skies are gray and we may have some rain. But yesterday was a new one for me.

Barry's sick -- some bug or another -- so I'm not having much time. I don't realize how much he does to help around here until he is not able to do it! But it's my turn to baby him now....heaven knows he does it for me often enough!

Gina worked Christmas morning so another person could have Christmas with their family. So we had the girls for Christmas breakfast and had stockings ready for them. That was fun. They are so sweet. Gina came home absolutely exhausted and slept for several hours before we had Christmas dinner (a very simple one) ready. So it was a lovely day and pretty quiet. She's had a few days off and starts back to work today.

I'm still quite worried about her. The doctor doesn't KNOW if she has thyroid cancer and wants to WAIT!!!!!! I've begged her to get a second opinion, and she is going to. Her whole body is out of whack and she is struggling to maintain. Please remember her in your prayers. She is so sweet.

I'm doing fine. Cold weather and arthritis are not a good combination, but it's do-able. We've passed the shortest day of the year now and so things will be getting better, well....after January, right?

    God bless you all.

Oh, gosh Helen! Make sure Gina DOES get another opinion!! I can't believe he says to wait!!

Well, it's asthmatic bronchitis. I didn't think I had the bronchitis part but when the doctor listened, he could hear wheezing AND congestion so I'm on antibiotics along with the inhaler. OH well! Atleast I know I'm going to get better soon.

Today was quiet - I went to the doctor then worked - Bob's home today (well, he's checking on the boat right now). The girls are away and the little ones are watching Cars right now. :) I think we're just going to have leftovers tonight since we still have so many.

I left some cookies on the counter and made a fresh pot of coffee. Enjoy!

    Good Evening Everyone!

Hmmm. Kinda quiet and cold around here. Well, I can fix that. There's a fire ready to be lit in the fireplace. Cookies, rice krispie treats and ice cream sunday fixings on the counter. Sausage balls, chips and dips, a cheese ball and nacho fixin's are next to 'em. Coffee's hot.

Ya'll help yourselves and have a Happy New Year!

I'll be back around later. Chris and I are headed to church to spend a bit of time with the church ladies.

    MK: thanks for the treats.
I am just going to post and run. We are going shopping tommorrow. Mom promised the grown kids a shopping spree and tommorrow is the day!
I know I am getting a new pair of tennis shoes out of the deal. Who knows what else I can find!!! I haven't even been to the mall in so long I don't even know what stores are there. Oh well, time to get some more laundry done. We have had so many kids on and off here that we are still trying to get all the bedding washed. I think for I have the last load ready to go for awhile. Have a happy new year.

DH is convinced that the stores are closed tomorrow. :) I told him they aren't and we need to go out and get a betta fish for my daughter. LOL! It's her 5th birthday today and I told her I'd get her a betta fish.

Not much going on here. The teens are home from their youth trip and my cold/bronchitis/asthma is slowly getting better. I think we're all getting to bed early tonight because we're just all tired. :)

I'll see y'all tomorrow! Have a wonderful New Year's Eve!

    Good morning all,

We had hot cocoa and S'mores last night while watching Ratatouie.

I was so wiped out from all the company coming and going that I fell asleep on the couch around 8:30 and slept until 4:30 this morning!

We had snow all day yesterday and last night too, Helen, except ours is still here. :(

I will be waking Brent up in a few minutes to clean the car off and shovel some snow away from the front of the car so we can get unstuck and deliver papers.

It is quite cold at 19º with a windchill of -8º. The wind is really blowing, causing blowing and drifting snow. Good day to stay inside and maybe take down the Christmas decorations OR just goof off and lay around...

Praying for a very peaceful, healthy, and prosperous 2008 for everyone!

    Blessings,
    §ue

Happy New Year! We slept in this morning even though we went to bed right after midnight last night. It's a lazy morning, I guess! Now I'm motivating the kids to get ready so that we can go out to Target and Petco. The girls got $15 gift cards from our pastor (who gets gifts for all of the church staff kids) and they want to get some flannel lounge pants, and Robby has $50 to spend from his birthday. After that, we'll go to Petco so Joanna can pick out a betta fish for her birthday, which was yesterday. I have the tank all set up so we just need the fish. :) After all that, Nicole and I are taking care of the horses this afternoon then it's a nice lasagna dinner. :) I'm trying a new recipe from the Pioneer Woman Cooks blog. If you haven't seen that blog, you HAVE to go - she's hysterical and has some really good looking recipes. The link is http://www.thepioneerwomancooks.com/

Have a wonderful day all! For those who have snow, please send it this way. I'm tired of this dumb rain.

We got close to 10" of snow last night, with another possible 3-5" forecast for today. I'll pm you a glass of snow Ann. I love rain...it's easier to shovel.

Not much going on here, we're just waiting for the next wave of snow to hit.

My Wife is Nanook of the North...and I'm a Schnook from the South [South Michigan that is.]

Wishing everybody a Happy and Prosperous New Year. :wavey:

    Howdy Everyone!

I have the whole blessed house to myself for the first time in, in, well, I can't remember when. Chris is usually here even if everyone else is gone. I'm not sure how I managed this unexpected time of relief, but I'm making hay whilst the sun shines. Yep, you got it. I'm cleaning house while there is no one to tear the stuff out behind me!

Cuz, send me some of that snow too. We have sunshine today, but a cold, cold wind is blowing and if it is going to be to cold for me to go outside barefoot and in a t-shirt, then I expect to be rewarded with snow. Even virtual snow will do! Good thing I drained the pool pump the other day, tonight it is supposed to be down in the 20's.

I gotta get back at it. Right now, you still can't walk through the house even though I've been cleaning for an hour or so, not counting bathing two stinky puppies!

    Ya'll enjoy your day!

You wanna come up here and run around barefoot and in a t-shirt Cuz? It'll be a toss-up which has a cuter shade of blue, your skin or your toenails

Should be a treat tomorrow. Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for tonight with considerable drifting possible.

I might or might not be able to check in tomorrow, depends on if we have power or not.

C'mon Cindi move back to Michigan. You know you miss it.

Cuz, you better dig back through those boxes you've been packin' cause you've obviously lost your mind! I said IF it's too cold for bare feet and t-shirts there should be snow, NOT I want to run around barefoot in the stuff! I am so allergic to cold, that the kids can't get to even consider going on the church's annual ski trip. Those crazy people drove straight through to W. Virginia yesterday to play in the stuff.

Well, humph! My house is full of people again. Even got an extra kid. Just how long do you think my house will stay clean? <grumble, grumble, grumble> I did a pretty good job of making a path through it too. Just don't tell my MIL that I did laundry today. One of her funny superstitions is that if you do laundry on New Years that you will wash someone out of your life. Tanya asked if it was possible to wash specific people out that way. <snicker> I sure am glad she ain't mad at me!

    Hello and Happy New Year!:wavey:

We're fixin' to get cold, too. We've got a forecasted low of 25 in the morning. Then 19 Thursday, and 25 again Friday.

We've got to get out in it Thursday morning for the trip to "my hospital." Brrrr

Last week I had my first treatment with a new chemo, and it didn't make me sick! PTL! Let's pray it works and keeps working.:praying: :praying:

    Good (early) morning all,

I know I'm going to regret staying up this late, but there's a MONK marathon on!

It is now 5º with an expected low of -10º before morning with a windchill of -25º with more blowing and drifting of snow. I'm not sure how much snow we got, but Brent had to shovel the walk last night and twice today.

This one is NOT leaving the house tomorrow until it's time to do papers in the afternoon. Then I will have Brent go start the car so it will be nice and warm before I get into it!

I get sick so easily in cold weather that I'm taking all the precautions I can...

Hopefully, I can sleep in a little when I finally get to bed.

    Back to Monk...

    Pleasant dreams all!

LOL, Sue, I love Monk too.

Good morning Everyone, 'cept Sue (who is certainly sleeping in this morning).

T is off to work and man was it hard getting up this morning! He's only been off 2 weeks, you wouldn't think the internal clock would change that much in just that little bit of time, but it did! The kids are still in the bed. They don't go back until next Tuesday! not sure what the board was thinking letting them out this long. Cass'll have been out 3 weeks by then. Cade will be short of 3 weeks by just one day and Jenna short by just 2 days. Of course Chris thinks that he shouldn't do school if they're not so he hasn't done anything all this time either. Three weeks is waaaaay to long, especially considering we had a whole week at Thanksgiving. I'd rather have started a week later than had this much time at Christmas.

Since I had to be up, there are fresh muffins on the counter and hot coffee in the pot.

    Ya'll have a good day!
