Hey! Good morning everyone! We have snow flurries going on here! It's 34 degrees right now and not expected to get much higher - then tomorrow should be very cold in the 20s for the high! Of course that's my day to ride...it figures.

Today will be relatively quiet. I have to start school in a few and I have one home from school today with what she thinks is the stomach virus. We'll see what happens through the day. I will pick up the other big one from school just before 2 for a hair cut (she SO needs it) and then it's home to relax. I'm just doing tacos for dinner so it's an easy meal. :)

Have a great day all! Keep warm and I'll be praying for you Gayla that all goes well with this treatment!

ok...i woke up cold...i don't like to be cold. good think i had a new born to snuggle and feed this am. she puts off a lot of body heat, i had no problem getting warm:thumbs:

Gayla: i'm so glad to hear your treatments didn't make you sick last time. we are praying that they work better than expected and they continue to not make you sick!

Cindi: i didn't do enough was yesterday...my caller id lit up at 5am today3. the one i would love to wash away was the one calling :tonofbricks: oh well...better luck next year. i swear she is like the cockroach...she will be here till the end of time.
oh...and you don't have to worry about me being mad at you. how could i be mad at the one who spent almost as much time at the dr/hospital as i did over the last few months? also, you redeemed yourself when you can and picked Leah and I up.

Sue: i hope you are able to sleep in and stay warm!

annsni: i'm sure your snow is beautiful. i have to say, i like to watch the stuff fall but, i do not want to have to get out in it. i don't want to shovel it!! i hope your sick one gets to feeling better and doesn't share it with the rest of the family.

FOG: yep, i'm with Cindi. you need to go back and unpack a few boxes to find your brain. why would anyone willing move from the south to the north? i have moved up north unwillingly 2 times but, we see where i am:wavey: besides, Cindi can't leave me and moving 14 people doesn't sound like much fun.

    have a good day all!

Good morning, folks! Clear and crisp yesterday; freezing fog this morning. We'll see what the rest of the day brings.

Gayla, so glad you are going through this round of chemo with less discomfort! God bless you!

Sue, MONK? The commercials are funny, but I really can't stand the show...LOL. Stay warm.

Cindi, my secret sister from the Women's Exchange -- I am still stunned by the work you did on that pail cover! You are one incredible lady!

Ann, hope the betta does well. What color?

Tanya, enjoy that little lady. Some of my favorite memories of my whole life are when my oldest son was born and after my husband left for work, I would have the whole day to doze and enjoy just being with that little guy. (I had surgery after he was born).

FoG, please don't shovel too much rain at once, it can really hurt your back...

We got Christmas cleaned up yesterday. It had been up since the day after Thanksgiving, so enough was enough and the only thing left today is the floors. Since Wednesday nights are Bible study here, Wednesday is floor day anyway. As much as I love Christmas, though, it's great to have things back to normal and the furniture where it belongs, etc.

Today floors, shopping a bit for food for us and the beasties.

Gotta get the blackberry canes along the back hedge trimmed back and burned this month. Roses can wait a month. Maybe the blackberries can, too.....It's COLD out there. Frost so heavy it looks like a thin layer of snow!

Birches standing silently against the fog as I look out. White trunks and black branches. Really pretty.....from in here.....

    God bless you all.

    Good Morning Everybody,

This is Radio Station WCUD ["don't touch that dial you've got Cud on it"] reporting from snow buried Southern Michigan. LOL!!!

Believe it or not we didn't lose power in all this mess. Now comes the fun part-digging out.

Gayla: That's great news about the new chemo. Did the markers go down?

Ann: Good to see you got some of our snow too. Want some more?

Sue: All I hear is snoring from Sues house. Whatever weather Sue has in IL, we have in MI within 24 hrs. The Polar Express is on it's way-the high for today is 20 and the low for tonight is 8-10.

Helen: I love shovelling rain, it's much easier than shovelling that dirty-white stuff.

Cuz & Tanya: I found it! My brain was in a box I'd forgotten about. Now have to see if it still works. NO WAY would I ask you two fine examples of Southern Womanhood to move North. Your accents would give you away.

Time to get the snowblower out...if I can find the garage.

Rob! The snow stopped! Keep it coming!! Please don't stop now!!

Helen - The little betta is kind of a light orangey pink but what this homeschooling mom loves is that he's almost transparent! We can see the blood vessels and digestive system. WAY cool! He's also active and super curious! Each time I'm over there (he's in the kitchen - the warmest room in the house), he comes to that side of the tank. I'm kind of liking "Pinky".

Okay Sis you asked for it. I had to dig out snow for close to 30 minutes just to get to the garage where the snowblower is.

We have mountains [no, not mounds-MOUNTAINS] of snow all over the place. If you want I'll pick one out and ship it to you. Do you prefer UPS or pm?

I'm trying to move South - I really am. Trouble is I just bought a house in Southern Michigan and I think for at least the next 30-50 years I'll be here.

Tanya's right! It's coooollldddd, here! I bet my Cuz can hear my teeth chattering all the way up north!

It is sooo cold that the huskies won't leave the garage! The puppies don't know what to think, cause the grass crackles under their feet. They keep stopping to sniff, trying to figure out where the noise is coming from. At least they were willing to go out! Ava and Mishka are thinking, "stupid puppies!" LOL!

There is also ice on the swimming pool. I am very glad I got myself outside last week when it was warm and drained the pool pump. I can imagine the damage this freeze could have done to it.

Cuz, you dug out from all that snow yet? How'd you plan on moving in this mess? Brrrr!

Today, well, I don't know yet about today. I know Cass has to work. Chris wants me to pick up Cade for his 'birthday weekend' bash (this gets me dinner at Outback!). The ladies may want me at church. And sometime or another I need to sit down and pay bills (yuck!). So we'll see.

Right now, I'm putting out bacon, eggs and bisquits for breakfast and enjoying the quiet.

It's a whopping 19 degrees right now with a high of 25 today. Brrr!! I have a pot of water on the stove to warm up and humidify the house a bit. I can't believe I'm going to have to go to the barn later!! I'm SO bundling up! But just wait! Saturday is supposed to be 54 degrees! LOL!

Today will be quiet - homeschooling then the barn. Nicole is still home with the residual stomach virus, so I can go to the barn earlier today. I'll then hit the grocery store for a few things then come on home for a meatloaf, mashed potato, broccoli and salad dinner. Yum!

I left some quiches in the fridge and some fruit salad. Enjoy!

25??!! and 37??!! Heck that's spring weather here girls. Our low was -1 last night, our forecasted high for today is 20, and the current temp is 18.
AND NOW FOR THE REST OF THE STORY: Our forecasted high for Saturday is 37, Sunday is 49, and Monday is 52. If you don't like Michigan weather...just wait 5 minutes and it'll change.

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

Does anybody hear something chattering? Sounds like a pair of castanets having a seizure.

We are slowly digging out up here. The "official" snowfall amount was 12-13 inches, but out here in the country with the winds and the drifting we added about 2-3 inches more.

Not going to be doing much moving for awhile yet Cuz. Still waiting for the closing date. Just trying to pack up as much as we can, as we can. Had three more of the inspections done, and all is well.

Have a Memorial Mass to go to tomorrow morning for a friend of ours. That'll warm me up for sure - up-down-sit-stand-kneel.

Ann: Did you ever get more snow?

Well, since it's warming up in Sweet Home Alabama I'm waiting for the 10-toed t-shirted Manageriekeeper to be sighted, and the Nesting TLB to put in an appearance.

It's warm out kids, it really is. Just skim that ice to the side of the pool and dive in Cindi. The excitement will take your breath away.

I'm not really a Moron...I just play one on the BB. :saint:

Three inspections? Good grief, what are they looking for, bodies? Did you buy this house from one of my blood cousins?

Here you have an appraisal. That's it. If you want you can get someone out to look for potential problems, but that is voluntary, unless the mortgage company wants one(some do, some don't).

Shhhhhh, Cuz. They don't know about the bodies...yet.

    We've had:
    Electrical Inspection
    Well Inspection
Pest Inspection [we passed, I wasn't on the premises. ]
    3 - Asessments
Fireplace Inspection [failed-have to change from wood burning to gas fireplace]

Waiting for the final assessment report so we can insure the house and property [has to be fully insured before closing can take place.]

FYI - I tried to buy that house and property by you that you told me about; but, your blood-cousins didn't want me livin' too close to you. Their right nice people, and I don't care what they say about you Cuz I think you're a great gal. :saint:

    Good evening all,
The low here was 15 with a high of 34. We are expecting 70's on Saturday. It's no wonder everybody is sick- we are wearing parkas one day and t-shirts two days later. Oh well, my shopping trip Tuesday was good. I got a new skirt and blouse, new jewlery and new tennis shoes for work. I didn't however find a coat. I was so busy trying on everything else that I didn't think about a coat until I walked out of the mall to go eat with the family.

Gayla: Praying that your treatments go well.
Rob: Don't hurt your back shoveling the snow and please don't send any snow my way, my 4 wheel drives are not running at the moment.
I had better go, my sis and her hubby are here and I think we are keeping the kiddos tonight so they can leave for OKC in the morning for his doctor's appt.
    Y'all have a good day!

We'll whisper about the bodies then, Cuz. :D

Are these inspections for the bank or something the local gov requires? Cause if it's for the gov, it's another reason I'm glad I live in Alabama. If I have fireplace problems, I get to deal with when I want to deal with it, if I ever want to deal with it! Same goes for pests (termites are rampant here, so some mortgage cos want a termite bond), power and wells (though we're on city water). The only elecrical inspection is for new construction or mobile homes. Even sewer/septic is only inspected during construction. I don't do well with buracracy! bleck!

Today we're celebrating Chris' birthday, so a trip to B'ham is imminent! We're having dinner at Outback. Mmmmm!

    Ya'll have a good day!

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

It is currently 28 here and sunny. We have rain forecast for tomorrow and with over 12" of snow on the ground tomorrow is going to be a mess. The snow and rain have to go somewhere so I expect to have flash-flood warnings issued for tomorrow as well.

Cuz: The inspections are required by the Township, and the State. I mis-spoke when I said we'd had 3 assessments...I meant to say we've had 3 appraisals. I agree with you about bureaucracy :BangHead: . Just be glad we're not getting as much government as we're paying for. - Will Rogers.

As far as I know all required inspections are completed and we're just waiting for the results of one inspection and we should be good to go as far as closing. Oh well, I was hoping we'd be able to celbrate Christmas in our new house; then it was New Years; now hopefully we'll be able to celebrate Valentines Day in the new house. :praying:

I am tired of all the bureaucracy, the snow, the packing, et al. I'm even too tired to cook, so tonight we're going out to eat. No idea for what or where yet.

    Good morning all!

Just checking in before we deliver the papers. We are having a heat wave (36º right now). I would go swimming, but it's raining...

I've been busy this week taking down Christmas decorations. I still don't have the outside (lights and Nativity Scene put away). Still putting the inside back in order...

We have to move furniture from one room to another in order to have the tree where we want it. Everything looks so bare once we take it down.

I have also been busy keeping Miss Kitty and Miss Cali away from "Herman" the turtle (a new addition to the family).

Anyone have any suggestions for a home for him? We need something we can see into, but it needs a top that can be removed by ME...but not the cats.

He was given to Brent by a friend who had raised him from birth. He came with a 'frog house', but it has since sprung a leak. I believe he is a sand turtle. His back is about 3 inches across. Ideas welcome on a new home for him!!!

Have to run. Will try to check in later.

    HAGD!

Hey Sue, how about a 10 gallon (or smaller) fish tank? - the fish ;o)

i hope everyone is staying warm. it is 43°F here...much better than it has been but, i still like for it to be warmer! IMO it should never be below 65°F or above 85°F.

not much on the plans for today. my oldest daughter is at her aunt's house, not sure when she will be home. we may try to get things together and *try* to make it to church in the am. *if* we make it, it will be the first time we have been to church on a sunday am since may 13th. i'm not even sure where the kids' ss classes are....and i will be in search of a new class for myself.

i have coffee, bagels & muffins ready to go. have a good day all:wavey:

Sue - Congratulations on the new pet. You sound like us - acquiring pets from other people! LOL! My bunny that came for us to bunny sit 3 years ago is sitting next to me. :)

Today I'm taking my oldest to Glamour Shots! She's not really up on makeup and hair - she's more interested in art - and her graduation pictures reflect that. I decided rather than spending hundreds in photos that we didn't like, we'd go someplace where they do the hair, makeup and such so that she'll have some really nice pictures. She just had her hair cut and highlighted on Wednesday and now she's getting this done! I hope it's a boost to her confidence!

Then tonight we're going up to church for a friend's 50th birthday. This is one of our missionary wives - the family is back for a month on furlough because of some family business and her sister figured she'd throw her this party. This month seems to be the month for parties - we have something every weekend! LOL!

I'm off to dry my hair and finish getting ready to go. It's nice and warm today at 35 degrees right now! I don't even feel chilled anymore! :D

    Good Morning Everyone!

Yep, I can attest to the fact that the silly orange cat expects Tanya to pick him up and throw him over her shoulder just like a baby, when she walks in the door. Sad, sad kitty cat! And both those cats are indeed bigger than the two year old. I keep telling the child she needs grow, but she doesn't listen! It's too funny to see her sitting next to one of those monster cats.

Well ya'll, as of today, I have two teenagers in my house! I can't believe my babies are growing up quite as fast as they are. Chris has acheived the ripe old age of thirteen. I don't know whether to be happy or sad with this turn of events. I'm still thinking about it.

Today includes, cake for Chris, basketball with Jenna and supposedly work with Cass, but she woke up with a migraine so I don't know if she'll make it or not. Good thing this "job" only consists of helping my friend in her shop. I'll probably go with today as the workroom needs WORK! They can handle customers and I can straighten things up a bit and get out some stock that has come in, but has to be steamed before being put on display.

    Ya'll have a good day!
