You are all over the place. In another thread you asked me what one has to do for eternal life. I quoted Jesus and what He said we needed to do. You came up with some gobbledegook answer saying basically that you did not believe His words and saying my answer was wrong. I didn't say what I posted, the Master did - if you don't agree with me (and Jesus) you are going to have to bring this issue up with Him.

The fact is, salvation is not just based on one thing, it encompasses the whole of what we have in writing of what Jesus and the Apostles taught. Faith, acceptance, repentance, baptism, Holy Communion - the Scriptures say we must do all those things. If we do not live a holy life here on earth by listening to Christ and doing good to others, we can lose our reward. (Yes, that is in the Scriptures too).

 

You are trying to live under the Old Covenant. The reason it is called "Old", as Hebrews tells us, is because it is OUTDATED and we now have the "NEW" Covenant which is in Jesus Christ. Nowhere in the New Testament do we read of baptism and the Lord's Supper being necessary for a sinner to be saved. This is the "tradition" of some church denominations but not in the Holy Bible, the 66 Books as found in the Protestant Bible, which is the ONLY Inspired Word of God.

I don't know who is teaching you the tenants of the Christian faith or how you are personally discerning it, but you are certainly not getting the truth about it. It's time to go directly to God's holy Word.

Mark 16:16 "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned".

The key word here is "is". We must be baptized, this is not an option for the Christian.

Matt. 28:19 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit".

Another command for us to be baptized.

Acts 2: 38-41. "Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.”
41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day".

Baptism is a requirement. If it wasn't, there would be no need for it.​

Acts 16:31 "They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”
32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house.
33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized".

Again, everyone became baptized, surely this must be part of the saving process?


Romans 6:1-5. "What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?
2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?
3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his".

Wow, this "baptism" idea is certainly popular!

As for Holy Communion, let us once again go to the Scriptures

"53Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. 57Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me." (John 6:53-57)

Our Lord certainly was not beating around the bush regarding what He wanted us to do. Don't you believe what Jesus says?

As for the Bible, unfortunately for you it was ripped to shreds by your spiritual ancestors.
