The statement by special counsel Robert Mueller in a Wednesday press conference that “if we had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said that” is worse than the statement made by then-FBI Director James Comey regarding Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential campaign. Comey declared in a July 2016 press conference that “although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of classified information, there is evidence that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.”

Comey was universally criticized for going beyond his responsibility to state whether there was sufficient evidence to indict Clinton. Mueller, however, did even more. He went beyond the conclusion of his report and gave a political gift to Democrats in Congress who are seeking to institute impeachment proceedings against President Trump. By implying that President Trump might have committed obstruction of justice, Mueller effectively invited Democrats to institute impeachment proceedings. Obstruction of justice is a “high crime and misdemeanor” which, under the Constitution, authorizes impeachment and removal of the president.

Until today, I have defended Mueller against the accusations that he is a partisan. I did not believe that he personally favored either the Democrats or the Republicans, or had a point of view on whether President Trump should be impeached. But I have now changed my mind. By putting his thumb, indeed his elbow, on the scale of justice in favor of impeachment based on obstruction of justice, Mueller has revealed his partisan bias. He also has distorted the critical role of a prosecutor in our justice system.

Virtually everybody agrees that, in the normal case, a prosecutor should never go beyond publicly disclosing that there is insufficient evidence to indict. No responsible prosecutor should ever suggest that the subject of his investigation might indeed be guilty even if there was insufficient evidence or other reasons not to indict. Supporters of Mueller will argue that this is not an ordinary case, that he is not an ordinary prosecutor and that President Trump is not an ordinary subject of an investigation. They are wrong. The rules should not be any different.

Mueller said that Trump was guilty of an unspecified crime but that Mueller just couldn't prove it. He thus forces the Democrats to impeach or be considered guilty themselves of a coverup of an unspecified crime. It turns out that the unspecified crime in an imaginary crime, which is one of the worst kinds. Margaret Sanger Award winner Pelosi wants a pound of flesh and she does not care how much blood she spills in getting her pound of flesh.

Maybe the Dems will decide that Mueller just hates Trump and that he had nothing--who knows?

"The names of House Democrats that come most to mind in the American political consciousness are Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, Ocasio-Cortez, Jerrold Nadler, Ilhan Omar, Elijah Cummings, Rashida Tlaib, Maxine Waters. These are the House members who consume the most air in the room, the most air on CNN, MSNBC, and the rest of the Left media. None of them is associated with acting meaningfully to deal with the border national emergency or health care. The House has been obsessed with going after Trump and those in the Trump orbit."

Now this will cause the Democrats to brand Trump as a criminal.... they will keep the ball in the air so this will simmer for a while. They call this poking the bear.

No, he revealed his true intent at the very beginning by the legal team of liberal Democrats and Hillary donors he hired.

    Anyway:

"...On Wednesday in front of the press, a visibly shaken Robert Mueller (Sean Davis called him “doddering”) resigned from the DoJ, smeared the president as probably guilty, said he wouldn’t take questions, and if forced to testify in front of Congress, would only reiterate what was in his report. Since when does a witness get to decide which questions he will answer?..."
    Mueller Tried to Entrap Trump

I really really want the snake to be subpoenaed and forced to publicly answer the questions Republicans will ask.

"...Mueller’s shaky demeanor, refusal to take questions, and declaring that his report would serve as his testimony shows Mueller is afraid to testify; he certainly looked afraid. It’s possible that with the leaks, the prosecutorial misconduct, the destruction of evidence, the entrapment, he could face indictment himself and it would be a good bet the “determination” he committed crimes will be made with “confidence.”..."

Right, he looked more like a hostage forced to read propaganda at gunpoint than a prosecutor. I wonder if Comey's staff gave him that statement and told him to say it, it was so weird and surreal.

His investigation was nothing but a circus all the while, those all D donors he hired and the jackboot raids he ordered and tipped off his pals at CNN. You can tell he never wants to answer any more questions ever but he's not going to be able to save poor stupid Comey this time - remember, Comey leaked his own memo to the press to get Mueller this job. Dirty by association, deep state going down.

I would be willing to wager that the reason Mueller gave that press conference and said what he said, in the way he said it was so that he didn't have to testify. He agreed to give the presser and give the green light for impeachment in exchange for not having to testify before Congress. I bet he and Nadler worked out that compromise.

Nadler and Co. are not pushing for him to testify, are not making any threats about subpoenas. Nadler doesn't give anyone else the liberty of refusing to testify. He gave them what they wanted. They wanted something from him that they could use to justify impeachment.

He didn't offer them any kind of criminal referral. But when you oppose Trump, the only crime needed is the crime of being elected president.

This is a taste of the police-state to come if the Left ever gets back in office and/or gets control of Congress.

Ha ha ha. It is a marketing tactic! In order to keep them from fracturing ( impeach/ don’t impeach)The Democrats will brand trump a criminal so as to keep the ball in the air and use impeachment down the road, all the while bolstering candidates to run against trump.

That's beside the point. The point is that there was no reason for Muller to hold a presser except to greenlight impeachment hearings and that is exactly what the Dems took from his presser and now he doesn't have to testify He will get no subpoenas from Nadler. It's up to the Senate Judiciary to subpoena him, now.
