I know this sounds like a stupid question but this question just popped into my head because when I was little I used to pray to my grandma after she died and asked her all sorts of stuff like what was it like in heaven or when would I get to see her, just silly questions like that. Now that I`m older I wonder if it's wrong to pray to others in heaven like that? To your family or loved ones? After awhile I stopped doing it and went on praying to God alone. If prayer is worship, would it be a sin to pray to others in heaven? Why would that be? Thanks for listening! Can't wait to hear some answers!

    The answer: it can be.

The acronym ACTS is used for a method of prayer

A stands for ADORATION, praising and worshiping God for who he is
CONFESSION, seeing ourselves as we are, in need of a God of grace
THANKSGIVING thanking him for his provision
SUPPLICATION asking God for the cares we need

too often we just skip to the last one, God I need...

I don't think people that have passed hear our prayers.

At 83, I can look back and see past actions toward others that I now see as possibly cruel/insulting/judgmental, etc. In most cases these are things from teen through twenties. Since by far the majority are not around - died, nursing homes, moved etc etc.
Ergo when something is triggered in my mind I simply ask God to either let them know that I have "asked" for forgiveness, OR, if no longer on this evil orb, to convey to them my request for forgiveness.
No knowledge of anything in scripture to validate such, but it does ease my guilt just by doing this!
I figure the absolute worst that will be accomplished is nothing, but ----!!:Biggrin:Thumbsup:Laugh
