That's a dishonest meme created for gullible people.

It pulls part of a sentence from the recent address by President Biden completely out of context, and juxtaposes it next to a speech given by former President Trump at Liberty University in 2017 from another context in order to make Trump a champion of Christian virtue and Biden as his opposite.

Having "trust and faith" in a system is not necessarily worship, and President Biden didn't call for any such thing. Here's the quote in context:

Look, we know what we need to do to beat this virus: Tell the truth. Follow the scientists and the science. Work together. Put trust and faith in our government to fulfill its most important function, which is protecting the American people—no function more important.

We need to remember the government isn't some foreign force in a distant capital. No, it's us. All of us. "We the People." For you and I, that America thrives when we give our hearts, when we turn our hands to common purpose. And right now, my friends, we are doing just that. And I have to say, as your President, I am grateful to you.

So Biden was (1) saying this in the context of overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic; and (2) calling the nation to a common purpose to work together to protect each other, since "we the people" are the government of the United States. That's a classic example of leadership, to pull people into a common cause.

It is just as honest as someone doing this:

Sigh biden doesnt believe the government is the people. His words ring hollow given his agenda. Many and I mean many Americans see biden and the socialist democrat party as worshiping government. And we dont care if you agree with it or like it.

Seems like both sides (GOP and DNC) have put their faith in their governing officials and candidates. Each just has different gods or idols.

It’s so simple, isn’t it? You can’t be wrong in your thinking. Easy to declare others as being foolish or extreme by putting them in ‘negative’ boxes while holding yourself as innocent. Sounds like a winning strategy alright.

We ALL know the weaknesses of most in the political class but the proof is in the agendas. Pick a side. End of story.

I agree. We either choose a political solution or a Christian solution - there is no in between as a political system seeks to reform the world and a Christian solution seeks to save men from a world already condemned.

And there are far too many professing Chrisians trying to live in the middle, riding the fence with a foot in both worlds. They simply cannot accept that entanglement in this world is opposition to God.

For a Christian the choice is simple - politics (a social gospel) or Christ. But in practice so many become entangled with the affairs of this world and the seed of the gospel is choked by the thornes.

It is easier, I suppose, to justify sin than it is to stand for Christ. But we were never called to compromise. No fence riders are fit for the kingdom of God.

You rightly say to pick a side. No man who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God. Scripture simply does not seem to condone compromise.

Like I said, sometimes the seed falls amongst the thornes.

Thanks for providing the godless quote. It is hardly good advice to trust in ourselves or in science or scientists over God. Biden does not display good leadership or a sound mind.

His words indeed ring hollow; they are deceptive rhetoric, as he and the Dems are hellbent on ruining the government and the country. They care nothing for the American people, hence the open border with so many COVID cases easily entering the country. As the saying goes, with friends like them, who needs enemies?

Then give up the political battle and fight against our true adversary, Satan. What's more important to you beating the Democrats or defeating Satan?

Going to a doctor is not putting one's faith in God, yet it's not putting faith in that doctor, by biblical definition-- the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things unseen. The stethoscope, the xray machine-- whatever-- is not something hoped for or unseen; they are empirical and visible. As is any substance the doctor may prescribe.

Ok, so why do right wingers put their faith in the 2A instead of God? That's about the equivalent of "if you want the government to have more power then you don't really trust God". If you really trust God, then why do you need the 2A, an element of government power/governing laws, to ensure you get to keep your guns? Why not just trust that God will let you keep your guns, instead of lobbying for the 2A to be respected?

Given that post, your user name must mean to follow the way of the Dems, because you are certainly propagating their political agenda constantly.

However, if it means to follow the way of Christ, then, if you think them sensible, you should have heeded your own words, in which case you would not be involved in these political discussions. In this case, your post would smack of rank hypocrisy and should be so noted.

Do you lock your doors? Carry insurance? Keep your cash and valuables in an open box by your front door? [Remember-- give to those who ask, do not turn away from those who want to borrow.]

Did Paul trust his companions and that basket they lowered him in instead of God?

I don't know what your point is, because it just sounds like you're proving mine

If I'm proving your point, then there is no reason for you not to answer my questions. And if you don't, then you have proved mine.

?? You do realize my post about putting faith in the 2A was entirely rhetorical? It was to point out the error of logic in the OP.

    Let me summarize:
-OP says dems put faith in government instead of God bc they want the government to do stuff about things
-I say "well then going to the dr is just as much of a sin"
-You say no it isn't because it's tangible
-So I choose a more direct comparison by comparing Repubs faith in the 2A, which is a government mandate

For the record I am entirely in favor of the 2A, that just has nothing to do with the purposes of this discussion

I'm about to clock into work, so I won't be able to respond to anything for several hours. But no, I will not answer your questions as whatever point you're trying to make is based on a complete misunderstanding of mine. Either explain your point on it's own merits or let it go forever unexplained.
